Driving test at 38 - advice please

Has anyone else passed their driving test much later on (compared to most people) in life?

I know I am a good driver. I feel confident and my instructor says I am the best driver on his books so I must be doing something right.

My second test is in a few weeks and on the last one I worked myself up into suck a frenzy I made stupid mistakes that I honestly never make on lessons and failed because of it.

It would change my life so much - I would be able to help my disabled mother out by fetching her things she needs and dropping them off.
Ferry my kids to places they need to go and not have to constantly ask other parents to do it for me.
Take my kids out for a day would be lovely.
Be able to just go grocery shopping.

I think knowing all these things adds to my nerves on the day, there is so much riding on it. And knowing I won't get another test until probably next year if I screw it up again. Sad

Any tips on staying relaxed?

I've just read your thread but massive congratulations! I passed 3rd time aged 47 and all pressure stopped when I told no one (not another living soul!) about my test! Hope this helps someone else but, again, congratulations!

Was going to reply then saw you passed! Well done! I passed 4th time at 35 after a lot of lessons driving round the test route. Was life changing for me too.

@LadyOfTheFlowers

I passed yesterday with a clean sheet Smile

I'm still so excited that I've woken up at this ungodly hour Grin

Well done OP that’s fantastic
