Mastitis

Hi,

I think I have mastitis. Last night I started shivering and burning up. My temperature was 38.9 but came down to 37.7 with paracetamol. I have a lump in my right breast that’s very painful. I woke up to a temp of 37.7 but it’s gone up to 38.1.

I’m waiting on a call back from my doctor. However, aside from regular feeding and pumping, are there any quick “fixes” that have worked for you?

I should add I had mastitis over three years ago and ended up developing sepsis so I clearly didn’t act quick enough then. My baby is 7 months old.

@Lockdowntherabbithole how are you feeling today? Hoping the antibiotics have kicked in and you’re on the road to recovery

@Ohshitiveturnedintomymother sorry I really thought I’d already been back to reply! I’m so much better now and back to normal.
I’d say by Friday I was back to myself. The antibiotics worked a treat. It’s a ten day course so I’m still taking them. I took the advice of lots of people on here and am convinced that helped too! X
