I have had so many readings. Most of them nonsense. One so accurate that i wish I’d kept her details. It was back in the 90s, a psychic fair, I was young and busy and life was great. She saw the whole thing was about to fall down about my ears like a pack of cards. She saw that I would stop going out and tried to encourage me to keep seeing people and socialising.

She was completely right. Within a year my health had failed, id started to have chronic panic attacks and social phobia due to my health condition, I’d quit my job, left my college course and attempted suicide multiple times.

FlibbertyGiblets · 11/05/2021 21:04

I used to be all sneery and callous but as I have grown older I see that people can find comfort there, and that is no bad thing.

So grown up me can say oh that is a really touching story Lisa - and mean it.

Thank You all , my Dad was Christian all his life so probably didn't have any belief in signs and orbs but he did certainly beieve in the Afterlife .

And I think the energy of a person is far too powerful to disappear .
I haven't looked for any more signs but I was very pleased to see that one .
We were not able to be with him when he died (Covid) but able to speak via Zoom. And as people can still hear even right at the end , if this was his energy saying "Yes I heard your voice and thank you for being there to send me on my way" then I'm content .

Many years ago ( when I was 22ish) a Palm Reader told me I'd have one child easily then struggle with the 2nd .
I guffawed to myself because I really didn't want DC.

10+ years later I had DS (ok took a while but I was older ) but with DD , I had a MC before her then a carcrash at 5 months . ......

They're both adults now , she was determined to be here I think !

Piptastic · 11/05/2021 21:59

I saw one about 10 yeas ago, in Brighton, for a laugh. I'm not very Woo but open minded.

This woman blew my mind. She was spot on about the most random and specific things. I still think about a lot of the things she said as they were too detailed to be guessed. Who knows. It was fun.

Devlesko · 11/05/2021 22:01

@TheRavenNevermore

I'm interested to know if the 'gift' has been passed down through everyone OP or just some? Do you have it?
This is my belief but I don't expect others to share it.

All my ancestors had a skill, not anything psychic.
They were very good readers and knew what their audience wanted to hear. They were wise and good councellors ? (spelling)

I think some personality traits could follow through DNA that would allow a person to develop the skills if taught from an elder.
Things have happened to me and members of my family that can't be explained. We are all quite skeptical too, believe it or not.
It's hard to come out as Romany and say that you want to do these things for money, which I will when necessary, because they are such a stereotype of Romany. It's a bit like hating telling pople you are a tree feller, or paver Grin

Aw, that's lovely. We all have different beliefs, I love it when people acknowledge the importance of it to others. Thanks

A friend convinced me to go to one.

When she turned her gubbins my way I amused myself by saying yes to all her "there's an elderly lady standing beside you..." fishing bollocks.

queenofthenorthwest · 11/05/2021 22:22

I went to see one. She got nothing right.

My auntie went to see one and she got A lot of messages from my nan.

Not her mum, my step fathers mum so no way could she have known who she was talking about.

just I'm sorry that happened to you.

I'm wondering, did she actually say things were about to go wrong? If so, how did you feel about being told that?

OP it's interesting to hear your heritage. My friend's dad was a spirit medium but he never took money and kept it hush hush because he was worried people would avoid them and it would affect the kids. My friend is now learning tarot but just for interest really.

@LadyOfTheCanyon I came across this old thread but I had to post because I also saw a psychic in Brisbane - I was on my own like you and half way across the world - what she told me was in such detail and although I put it all to the back of my mind (as a curious sceptic) it has actually all come true. I wonder if it was the same lady! I took her card at the time but have long since lost it!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 24/03/2022 21:37

Interesting! I seem to remember it was in The Gap but I might be misremembering. I think I saved her business card in the diary I kept at the time which is in the loft - next time I go up I'll try and remember to have a look and let you know!

barbrahunter · 24/03/2022 21:44

I wonder if the OP will have a sense that her thread has been resurrected? Shock
In answer to the question, although I mostly always say it's rubbish etc, I did go to someone once way back, and he was spookily spot on about loads of stuff, it really unsettled me.

Yoohoo778611 · 24/03/2022 22:05

I saw one about 30 years ago approximately 200 miles from where I lived.
He told me that I had a connection with Canada. Not that I knew.
2 weeks later younger brother who was in the army got his new posting. Canada.
It was so strange because only 12 from the battalion were going

LongSummers · 25/03/2022 04:33

@LadyOfTheCanyon oh I’m so glad you got my message! That would be amazing - do let me know if you find it. It was about 15 years ago and there was some sort of small temporary fair by the bay which she had a little stall at (don’t remember the purpose of the fair). I’m not sure where she worked normally. Would so love to have her details and get an updated reading. I had a couple of readings prior to that and they were generalised waffle. Her reading was so precise with details which have actually come true!

SuzyQ12 · 29/03/2022 19:12

Yes, I've had quite a few readings, tend to go every year or two, some very accurate, others not so much.
