Anyone managed to sneak an extra dog in to center parcs

We have 3 dogs ,they only allow 2 per cabin ...do ,they check the amount of dogs in and out ??? 2 of our dogs are so small anyway ,that they could just count as one dog..

I've heard of people sneaking extra children in. Dogs might be a bit trickier depending on obedience (but I suppose that goes for both dogs and children).

RachelRaven · 09/05/2021 09:58

Im wondering the same thing about my house at the moment. Dh said no more dogs, but would he notice a small one...?

britnay · 09/05/2021 10:18

depends on how similar they look

My family put my in the car boot when I was little to sneak me in 😂 so you might get away with it

Tinkywinkydinkydoo · 09/05/2021 11:05

Even if you did manage to sneak one in, surely you’d be on edge the whole time that someone’s going to see or report you for having 3 dogs?

LEMtheoriginal · 09/05/2021 11:10

We've sneaked an extra dog onto camp sites. We stayed in a cetre parcs trype place a few years back, nobody checked on our dog numbers Grin we have two jack russels, an extra Chihuahua is very different to an extra Labrador i guess.

Id be nervous if it were a limit though, rather than, ooops, my bad didn't realise had to pay extra if that makes sense.

I would risk it OP! I doubt people will be worried about counting your dogs.

Springsnake · 09/05/2021 13:04

Yes very small dogs..but I hadn’t thought someone might see us walking 3 ...I’d happily pay extra to take 3 rd one ,I don’t know why the limit is 2

Never understood people taking dogs to centre parts, you can't take them in the play areas, the restaurants, the swimming pool, the sports hall and you can't leave them alone in the accommodation so what exactly do you do when you are there?

BarbaraofSeville · 09/05/2021 13:09

Do they look in the car when you arrive and drive up to the barrier?

Yes, having 3 with you when out and about is going to give the game away, but I wouldn't have thought that most of the other guests would know or care about the 2 dogs rule.

As for staff? Would the staff who are out and about on site say anything? I suppose the risk is that if your dogs cause a disturbance, if staff get involved, might you be asked to leave?

Well if those are the rules, it hardly seems worth it. You might as well go somewhere cheaper if all you're getting is the accommodation and the woods.

A cottage or other 'shed in the woods' type place that allows dogs is probably fine with 3 small well behaved dogs, after all they'd probably be less risk of annoyance/destruction than one or two larger ones.

Phone anonymously and ask as if you're thinking of booking snd see what they say

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 09/05/2021 13:21

It would annoy me if next door cabin had 3 dogs. Unless they are silent dogs. I don’t think Centreparcs is the right place for dogs. My friend brought hers last time and they were a pain in the arse.

Not if you use the 'what do you mean? We've always had that dog' line 😉
Corrag · 09/05/2021 13:34

Ah yes, from the same repertoire as "what do you mean "is that a new dress/coat/jumper?", last time I wore this you said I looked lovely in it" Grin

Springsnake · 09/05/2021 13:51

We took the 2 small dogs last time we went with no problem
But since then we have had to take on a relatives dog ,who became to ill to care for it ..so now we have 2 small dogs and one big dog
In fact that’s almost how we got the second dog actually
By rights we should only have one dog
Such is life

You just have to make sure the extra dog looks like the other ones and they're never all in view at the same time.

See also the advice shared amongst MAMILs about getting a new bike past your DW without her noticing. Just make sure it's the same colour as the one(s) you have already.

(For the benefit of the 'well I cycle and know all about bikes so could spot a cyclocross bike and tell the difference between that and a road bike at 50 paces even if they are the same colour' crew, Its. A. Joke.).

LegoCardSwapper · 09/05/2021 14:05

They check things like CCTV. My friend snuck her dog into a non dog cabin and got fined and had to take the dog to a kennel or leave the holiday. They said they check on CCTV to see comings and going's. They WILL see you've got 3 dogs and some point and they will challenge you.

FelicityBeedle · 09/05/2021 14:05

The dog advice reminds me of this

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 09/05/2021 14:08

If it is against the rules, why do you think you are so special you don’t have to abide by them? Book somewhere that accepts three dogs end of.

TeyiHeb · 16/01/2023 16:44

Has anyone managed to do this yet, wanted to potentially try, as I have three small dogs and can't really abandoned one or buy two lodges

EllaMennoP · 16/04/2023 23:45

Did you end up trying? I’m really hoping I can when we go next week!

we are in two separate cars, and the three dogs are small.

does anyone know how in depth the checks are on arrival?

I seen the comment above about other guests being bothered by it but if we booked two seperate lodges we would all still be together all day with three dogs? So other guests wouldn’t know?

KayTay96 · 07/10/2023 09:17

Did you manage to do it? We go in a couple of weeks time… We have two spaniels and a labrador puppy! Just wanting to know if it’s possible, we would take them out at separate times but wondering if they’ve ever approached anyone?

KitCatKitty · 07/10/2023 09:53

Maybe you'll be the poster who finally comes back and updates the thread with some useful information @KayTay96
