Anyone want to share what they’ve bought and enjoyed recently? Always looking to shake things up without deviating too far from the shopping list!

Two of my recent successes:

  • mozzarella and sun dried tomato filled pasta
  • sweety drop red peppers (jarred mini red peppers, quite hot)

Any bottle of wine I've picked up has been good

Recent convert from Waitrose. Can’t believe the price difference. Anyway, their smoked salmon is divine as is their fresh lemonade and raspberry. Wish I could get the Lacura rose stuff but my store is a small one.

Woodlandbelle · 08/05/2021 23:01

I love the falafel (yum)
The different salads / hummus

NeverSurrender · 08/05/2021 23:02

The rocky road (4 pack) are amazing!

chorusline79 · 08/05/2021 23:05

Spanish rice ( microwaveable pack) is delicious

Jive bars

Pink fizzy wine in a can!

Tonic water

Busygoingblah · 08/05/2021 23:09

The sticky toffee pudding. The fact it says it feeds 4 is a lie though. 3 servings max in that pack!

kerkyra · 08/05/2021 23:11

Sweet chilli hummus
Vanilla Moser Roth
Frozen bag of raw or cooked king prawns, you get about 18 in a pack for a little over £2!
Green thai curry pack to make your own, very scrummy.

ALevelhelp · 08/05/2021 23:14

Just remembered the bread and butter pudding is amazing too!

mynameiscalypso · 08/05/2021 23:15

I agree about the chicken with patatas bravas and the microwaveable grains - we've had the Spanish ones and the bbq ones this week and they've both been good. The sliced chocolate chip brioche loaf makes for amazing French toast.

LagneyandCasey · 08/05/2021 23:16

Skin on fries (yellow pack).
Sourdough pizzas.
Mature cheddar cheese bake in the brown dishes.
Austins summer punch (Pimms).
Brioche loaf.
Pack of 4 dips - the nacho cheese is amazing.

LagneyandCasey · 08/05/2021 23:18

Meant to say it's the Tex mex dips

Lykia · 08/05/2021 23:23

Their £12 champagne is really good, much better paying an extra few quid for this rather than buying Prosecco.

Tiger loaf sliced bread and the seeded one too, my dc love dirty fries and dirty wedges. I like their Specially Selected Moussaka, pizzas and 10% fat Greek yoghurt. Tesco etc only sell 5% or 0% ones.

Gatehouse77 · 08/05/2021 23:28

Brioche buns
Pancetta (uncooked) is much less fatty than others
Pastrami/salt beef/applewood smoked ham
Falafel
Caramel wafers (equal to Tunnocks)
Pesto
I use the cheapest red/white wine for cooking

Bananaman123 · 08/05/2021 23:40

Skincare - their new dupes for glow recipe, vit c hot cloth cleanser, toner dupe for pixi

shetlandponies · 09/05/2021 00:22

Skin on fries

Meatball pasta bake

Kfc style southern fried chicken

BarbaraofSeville · 09/05/2021 03:44

They do a mini mozzarella garlic bread that's a Domino's copy that's only 99 p.

We also like the frozen sausage patties that can be used to recreate your own McDonald's sausage and egg mcmuffins.

But deviate, I say. Life's too short to buy the same things every week.

Furrybutts · 09/05/2021 03:52

Their frozen pizzas are very good.
Their copy of mint Magnums are delicious, and the frozen lemon meringue pie is the nicest I've ever had.

Bluesheep8 · 09/05/2021 07:54

German meatballs
Chicen burgers
Low sugar apple and blueberry granola

IggyAce · 09/05/2021 07:55

In their fresh meat bbq range they do lovely flavoured chicken flatties, I will have to check if they are back in stock.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 09/05/2021 07:59

I agree the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is lovely. They also do some good low-carb "pastas."

And their own brand volume conditioner is amazing, cheap as chips, and Curly-Girl method friendly.

CurryLover55 · 09/05/2021 08:09

Love Aldi! I haven’t been impressed with the white wines lately though. I tried a creme caramel liqueur which was rather yummy!
Triple cooked chips are wicked but so good!
Salmon en croute ( 2 flavours but can only remember the prawn one)
Torchon ham
Welsh Collier Extra Mature Cheddar
Dauphinois potatoes ( seasonal)
Figrolls
Sometimes they get specials in the middle aisles - I discovered Baxter’s Sri Lankan Sweet Potato soup & went back to buy every single can!
King Prawns ( fresh)
The sandwiches aren’t bad value
Maple syrup reasonably priced
Cheap free range eggs

Furrybutts · 09/05/2021 08:10

Pack of 1/4 duck, pancakes and hoisin sauce. Less than a fiver and always good amount of meat.

LadyofMisrule · 09/05/2021 08:26

Skin on fries
Halloumi burgers
Posh frozen pizzas with goats cheese
Cava in the gold botttle.

TheWashingMachine · 09/05/2021 08:34

All cheese is good, especially the brie. Large green olives, Greek yoghurt, nuts, jelly beans, jaffa cakes, maple syrup, venison and bistro salad

thenorthernluce · 09/05/2021 08:50

Really love all these recommendations - thank you!

And FYI - booze is most welcome too 👍🏻
