My kitchen is haunted

I have a bowl of conkers on the floor of my kitchen. Over the last fortnight, on two mornings I've found one of them on the floor by the oven about 3m away. It looks like something was trying to drag it under the oven . This morning, it's happened again plus another conker is on the other side of the kitchen.

I live alone and have no pets. Is my kitchen haunted??

It's not going to be spiders, spiders hate conkers. Unless it is spiders trying to get rid of the conkers I suppose.

We had rats, the pest control said they poo in one place (not necessarily on the premises) rather than shit everywhere like mice.

My parents had a similar thing happen, it turned out to be a rat. Next door were having an extension built and they'd blocked off a drain, trapping a rat inside the semi-detached house.

Ghosts would be fine but anything with 4+ legs? I think you should move house just to be safe.

I'd rather have rats than Wee Folk. I'd rather have a ghost than either.

My money is on a rat.

When we had a rodent issue many years ago I was advised to leave out a chocolate biscuit at night to find out what it was- in the morning if you find it's been nibbled you have mice, if it's gone you have a rat. Apparently rats and mice love chocolate! No idea what giant spiders or pixies feel about chocolate though!
