Stomach bug 34 weeks! Any tips?

I'm 34 weeks and have a stomach bug, I haven't been able to keep anything down since 12.30 yesterday. Any tips? I have both sickness and diarrhoea. The added issue is I have a temperature too!

I know it sounds cruel but nil by mouth food wise for 24 hours might just finish the bug off. Did they culture for any bug?

TOWGA · 10/05/2021 12:37

@justasking111 they did a culture, and midwifes are fine for it to take its cause until it finishes.
@amusedbush I'm home now, I'm hoping now I'm home I can relax more, I'm confused as to what to do about work, I obviously can't go into work until the diarrhoea finishes/ 48 hours. I started symptoms on Thursday, would self certification, still be okay for the next 2 days? As I work Tuesday and Wednesdays?
You can usually self certify for five working days before you need a line from your GP so that should be fine.

@TOWGA how u doing?

TOWGA · 13/05/2021 14:32

@justasking111 I'm feeling 100% times better though I still have the diarrhoea just not as bad, it doesn't seem to want to stop though!

Well go to Holland and Barrett if you have one, get probiotics and acidophilus to reboot your gut. Also yogurt live bio. You could take immodium to help your gut get some rest. Kaolin helps too.
