What's there to do in and around Penzance?

We're holidaying in the UK this year and staying in Penzance.

Does anyone have any recommendations, for days out / places to eat / drink etc? We have teenagers!

Jubilee Pool - you will need to book. With teenagers I wouldn't worry too much about the geothermal - the main pool is great. The pool has a cafe - nice coffee, pizza etc.
Moomaid cafe in Zennor - lovely icecream.
St Michael's Mount, football on the beach, sea swim, places for lunch in Marazion - evening eating at the Godolphin.
Train to St Ives - park at St Erth station (do not drive to St Ives - you will never park) - fish and chips for lunch.
Can your DC's surf? - lot's of surf schools (Marazion, Gwithian, Sennen) offer a day of tuition with all the kit included.
Horse riding - local stables offering rides - all kit provided.
This year I would plan and book ahead - it will be busy. Don't go to Flambards - expensive and really disappointing for teenagers.

Agree with posters who say Moomaids of Zennor.

Also, dinner at Mackerel Sky.

Don't go to Lands End.
It's grim as an attraction.

Beautiful beaches at Sennen, and small low tide gems like Nanjizel and Rinsey.
Prussia Cove is close and is gorgeous.
Jelbert's ice cream in Newlyn
Newlyn Filmhouse cinema - amazing place.

Personally I think St Ives is overrated and generally crowded. If you must go tho take the train from the park and ride in Lelant - gorgeous ride along the coast abs deposits yiu in the middle of town.

Love all the prehistoric monuments in the landscape around PZ - Nine Maidens, Men an Tol. Chusauster Irin Age Village. All very atmospheric.

The Tinners Arms at Zennor is lovely. And go hunting for the mermaid in Zennor Church.

I do think too that Tate St Ives is overrated. The Hepworth museum and sculpture garden is far nicer.

Surf lessons at Gwithian, or Praa Sands on the south coast. Or if it's calm, hire SUPs. They're all over the place! Particularly nice tho out of Porthleven Harbour.
