Job I applied to has been re-advertised

Assume it's because the company hasn't received as many suitable applicants as they would have hoped. I am experienced and fit the person specification, so surprised I have not been invited for an interview.

Has this happened to anyone on here, who still went on to get the job?

Squidelicious This isn't a problem for me. Based on my individual circumstance, I would take any role they would offer me. The roles are based in two entirely different business areas, so my application would be reviewed by two separate recruiters.

I wasn't saying it's a problem for you, it doesn't look good to them.

Good luck with your search!

Squidelicious Oh ok. As a manager/recruiter myself, I wouldn't discount or look unfavourably upon a candidate if they applied to two jobs on my team - it would show they're keen to join. Interested to know your perspective though, why wouldn't it look good to them?

Can you call them and ask how your application can be improved as you'd really like to work there because

JobHunting10 · 10/04/2021 17:53

TillyTopper Goodness, it's surprising how often this seems to happen! As I applied very recently, and the online tracker still says my application is under review, I think I'll leave it a few more days before following up.

I was told I wouldn't be interviewed, I queried it by asking for feedback on my application and was told I was rejected in error by an automated system. They then offered an interview and I got the job.Reapply

I was turned down for a job that I thought was ideal and felt very miserable about it. If I had got it, I would have ended up living in an awful area, I would never have got the nicer, better paid, job that I got after that and I would never have met my husband or lived in the house I live in with the children I now have. I now feel slightly sick with relief that I didn’t get the first job. So even if you have been turned down, keep going as it may be fate doing you a favour! Good luck.
