Listened to Roy Orbison's "Crying" this morning, such a sad breakup song. What's your favourite breakup song, one that really gets to your heart?

Rites of Passage by Fish

China - Tori Amos was the song that resonated with me during a bad teenage breakup. I listened to that whole album endlessly, so if I hear those songs again now I’m instantly 18 again.

Another Sinead one - 'Last Day of our Acquaintance', manages to be clinical and beautiful by turns.

And from a man's point of view: Bill Withers 'Hope She'll be Happier with Him' - Live from Carnegie Hall. Incredible track.

Otis Redding - 'I've been loving you a little too long', the most amazing and moving vocal performance.

Songbird - Fleetwood Mac, Rumours. Actually most of Rumours!
Silver Springs gets me every time. The video with Stevie Nicks singing it at Lindsey Buckingham has so much emotion in it.

So many good songs mentioned on here. I’m going to have to make myself a playlist...

The song that gives me shivers is I Want You by Elvis Costello. (Although it might be about an affair rather than a break up)

I Get Along Without You Very Well - several versions, but I love Chet Baker's. Those lines " I get along without you very well, Of course I do, Except to hear your name, Or someone's laugh that is the same..."

All I Ask by Adele.

It just destroys me every time. No idea why she didn’t release it as a single.

Don’t Speak.

Last kiss and All Too Well by Taylor Swift.
The opening bars of both songs take me straight back to my first heartbreak, I feel like a teenager all over again

I saw A Great Big World live in London in 2016... They were absolutely amazing. I met them afterwards and got their autograph and they signed a poster for my goddaughter too...

When we were young by Adele

Slow dancing in a burning room - John Mayer

Dreaming with a broken heart - John Mayer

John Mayer is the absolute king of tear inducing songs (in my opinion at least)
