Crest white strips

I know this has been done to death, but can any dental professionals recommend me if these are damaging to the teeth?

I used them 4 years ago and they were brilliant. V little sensitivity and the effects have lasted until now, when I could do with a top up.

In the meantime, my dentist has diagnosed me with thinning enamel, although not on the treated teeth at the front of my mouth. It's more prevalent towards the mid-to-back of my mouth.

So can I do another 4 yearly course of white strips?

Americans use them with no issues, and although our regulatory body is different in the UK surely teeth are quite a general structure/make up?!

I believe they can only whiten enamel so not sure what would happen if yours was running thin in places, would it look patchy?
No idea though to be honest!
I bought a set of these a couple of years back and used them for week or so, had a lot of sensitivity and wasn’t sure I could really see a difference but I’d use them again. Might have a look and get some more, my dentist never commented so I’m guessing they didn’t do any horrific damage.

@BoxitUp

Has anyone got a link to the strips on tge uk amazon site. I can only see the price in dollars
I was going to ask this too.

@Mrsmorton

Pbur if that's true then you need to find a new dentist. There's no mechanism by which the bleaching agent could cause a hole in your teeth. Unless you didn't actually get bleaching agent but then your gums would have awful chemical burns as well.
I definitely have the holes (kind of worn out patches on the teeth?) which presented recently, I assumed it was due to an orthodontic device he had fitted but on examination that wasn’t possible due to the positioning of the holes vs where the device could rub. He asked if I had used whitening strips and said that that is what would have caused them. It would be great if he was wrong however as I would like to have white teeth again! Smile

@Oblahdeeoblahdoe

Do you need to have your teeth properly cleaned beforehand? As in, with no staining?
No, they get rid of staining too.

Please can someone tell me if you're all ordering these from the US amazon site and paying in dollars as I just can't find them on the UK site. Am a bit nervous of ordering from the US site

This is where I had mine from

aintnocoffeebigenough · 03/04/2021 08:28

I’ve ordered from the UK Teeth Whitening site above twice and was initially a bit Hmm about whether they’d arrive because the website felt dodgy but both orders came really quickly.

BoxitUp · 03/04/2021 08:37

wishywasheewoohoo one of those links is in dollars and the other in pounds sterling. Which one did you use please?

BoxitUp · 03/04/2021 08:37

Aintnocoffee thanks. 'Out of stock' :(

aintnocoffeebigenough · 03/04/2021 08:42

@BoxitUp

Get these ones in the 20 Strips - they’re in stock Smile They come individually wrapped rather than in the retail box if you see what I mean - I presume they separate bigger boxes to make bundles for those who don’t want to commit to a whole box. I think the retail box with 40 strips goes out of stock quite a lot. I have always found that 20 strips (ten top teeth, ten bottom teeth) makes a massive difference and I don’t really need any more than that!

OysterMonkey · 03/04/2021 10:24

Brilliant - thanks.
Ordered 20 😁😁

I've used both of these. Had a box of 40 from dentist.net originally. Then used the other site last time I needed some
MaizeBlouse · 12/04/2021 23:37

How is everyone getting on with thier strips?!

I previously lurked here and purchased some. Worn for 3 days put of the last 5 I think. Can't see that they are visibly more white yet. They're easier to apply that I expected and no negative side effects thus far

ElizabethTudor · 13/04/2021 00:00

I lurked and bought too. I’m 5 days in.
I’m using them every day. Can see a definite difference now.
I did have a bit of sensitivity for the first few days, but that was it.

aintnocoffeebigenough · 13/04/2021 07:43

Great to hear that they’re going ok for you all! Whenever I do them I have no difference until about strip 5 or 6 and then all of a sudden they are quite a bit whiter!

OhDearWhyAmIFatterly · 13/04/2021 08:32

Hello
I'm on day 5 today and I think they are definitely looking whiter!
I had heard that the crest strips on the uk amazon site are not as strong as the US versions. Something to do with UK laws so that's why I ordered from amazon US... Not sure if it's true though?

FredaFox · 15/04/2021 18:21

Mine came today
I hadn’t realised at the time but it looks like mine came from America so here’s hoping they are the strong ones!!
