My DC get chocolate eggs from family and friends. None of this ridiculous Easter bunny stuff.

Dementedswan · 30/03/2021 10:58

My dc get really excited to wake up in the morning and search the house for little Easter eggs.. I'm sure they know its us by now, but they've never said or asked. It's all part of the fun!

They get one large egg from us.

The Easter bunny hides eggs in the garden. We didn't tell them that it was a really entity but they formed a belief in it (or played along) until they were old enough to be perfectly aware that mum or dad disappeared out to the garden and then lo! there were eggs to be discovered.

It wasn't a tradition we were following on from our families, just a hook to hang the egg hunt on really.

DS gets an egg from us, the Easter Bunny hides it while he's asleep Shock he then does a trail/treasure hunt with little eggs and the big egg at the end. He hides mine and DHs eggs too, the rascally rabbit (my egg is specially ordered from Betty's in York!).

Last year with lockdown/no school/life generally being a bit crap he bought DS a lego set too, but we're not making a habit of that...

Yes, he leaves little chocolate eggs all over the garden for them to collect in their bags.

My DC are adults now, but we had the Easter hen when they were little. I had to do some rapid lying once, when they discovered their Easter eggs hidden in the car boot on Good Friday.
My cover story was that they’d been naughty that year, and I had been worried the hen wouldn’t come - so I had bought back up eggs.
Unfortunately I then had to go and buy two more bloody eggs - from the hen! Grin

No. I didn't know that people actually did The Easter Bunny, I thought it was a funny character thing that everyone - including children - knew was a nonsense.

They get chocolate eggs, we hide them, the kids look for them. We do lots of easter shit with lambs and chicks and bunnies. Everyone's happy.

My kids got loads of eggs, but not from the easter bunny.
