If your passport needs renewing soon, now is a great time! 3 working days from starting application to it being posted to me!

I need a new one soon. I'm gonna wait till I can get to the hairdressers though!

Since they have been online passports have been really quick

Mine and ds’s passports have both expired.
I don’t think I’ve not had a valid passport since I was a kid - I didn’t go abroad until I was 8 or 9 but there doesn’t seem to be any point in renewing either of them yet. I can see it being needed in 2021.

Did you get your original passport back OP? A friend of mine renewed hers last year and had a real problem getting her expired passport back (It had unexpired visas in it!)

I only did them for the kids last year since mine still has another few years on it, but got them back right away.

The Irish passport office has closed completely and there's going to be a huge backlog when they reopen. I might get a British one instead (dual nationality but have only every had an Irish passport). I'm not planning on going anywhere but it's surprising how often you need a passport as proof of identity, for instance my Revolut account is suspended because my passport is out of date.
