Hi there I got told at 20 week scan I have a low lying placenta. I carried on as normal until around 4 days ago 23+4 I went to the toilet as I felt I was starting a period and bled. I went to hospital was kept in 3 days baby wasn't bothered thank god! But the bleeding has scared the life out of me its made me paranoid and anxious. I was told light pink is ok and any fresh red blood to go to hospital. Has anyone else experienced this did bleeding stop, im constantly going to check in not bleeding and worried to go to the toilet im now 23+6 and terrified as I don't want baby coming yet

There never seemed to be anything I could pinpoint that triggered a bleed for me. As well as pelvic rest I was told no heavy lifting, hanging out washing, vacuuming.

Mine were all fairly sudden and heavy, then a couple days of darker blood and clots (sorry TMI) which Id say was like a period. I never really had any ongoing spotting or anything in between.

The regular scans were really reassuring, I would take up the offer to go in for an extra if it helps put your mind at rest.

I found I needed to focus on practical stuff too. I couldn't face packing a baby bag early, but did keep a hospital bag packed for me.

I think intercourse due to orgasm causing a contraction started mine if im honest and the midwife and doc agreed so have told me no sex now so im hoping that by listening to them I don't bleed again im terrified of a big bleed
