Over the last couple of weeks I’ve restarted my Etsy shop (well it has been up and running for five years, but I was pregnant when I started it then I had twins who are both disabled so I haven’t touched it in four years - I’ve just been selling digital downloads, so it’s just been ticking over with very very few sales (about 40 last year).

I’ve added lots of new items including a kit and have been trying to get back into the swing of social media as my pages had died a death. It’s hard going but feel like I’m getting somewhere (have turned over as much in the last month as I did all of last year).

I have a mammoth to-do list including taking all new photos, and restarting my shop selling finished items to run alongside my templates and kits.

I’ve been out of it for so long that I feel like I’m starting from scratch.

Would be lovely to talk to others about how they are doing, share tips on getting the best results, making listings as effective as possible, share info on things like where to order packaging and stuff like that.

Anyway, I’m here if anyone wants to chat :)

I’m still selling on Etsy. Steady sales. It’s been a learning curve! I wasn’t really making much, lots was going on advertising. But starting to get things better to get some profit! I seem to have staples that sell well, re-usable sandwich bags, drawstring washbags and sitting mate. I’ve added other makes too. I’m still figuring out SEO’s and best titles and tag practice. I’ve a Facebook page that I post on fairly regular, it directs people to my Etsy store that does bring people in. I don’t get much from Instagram. I’m on a few Etsy Facebook groups, which I’ve found useful for hints and tips

with regards to shops being closed, that’s usually down to copywrite infringements. Ie people doing Disney stuff, marvel, Harry Potter etc, you can’t even use the phrase, ‘inspired by’ or claiming to be handmade, when it’s clearly not! supposedly the fee increase is going towards cracking down on this kind of stuff as it’s rife on the site.

Hi all, great to see the thread revived!

I've been working my socks off and sales are finally starting to become steady. I released some spring flower notecards towards the end of Feb and they've been my best sellers ever since, so I'm riding that wave and thinking about what I can make next that will be seasonal and (hopefully) equally popular. I've also done a couple of craft fairs which have been ok, I've a couple more booked for this year and may book a few more over the summer.

I have started to be more consistent on social media, I get a good engagement on Facebook but it tends to be crickets over on Instagram (apart from all the "promote it on" spam messages!). I also use Pinterest but don't really have any click throughs on there.

I've not had any click throughs from pin interest either I've not tried twitter or tik-tok as I don't really understand either well enough. I don't have a business page on facebook just an ordinary page, but seem to get a fair few click throughs. I do sometimes boost a post when I'm uploading new lines. I have a few etsy listings advertising but have turned off site ads off as it was taking most of my profits.
