Does anyone else feel a bit jealous about some of their mates getting their Covid vaccines already. I’m in group 9 and at least 4 of my friends, also in group 9 but younger than me, have had or booked in for their jab. I’m a bit pissed off we all live near each other and as far as I know none of us have underlying or other issues, is it just different surgeries. We all have different dr surgery’s and that is how they have been called for it.I thought we waited for a letter, don’t we?

Its even worse in Scotland. The 16 - 64 medically vulnerable are being done at present. The 60 - 64s haven't been done where I am.

I got mine last week & I'm so grateful

garlictwist · 17/03/2021 17:59

I feel like everyone's had it except me (even though I know it's not true) my family have because they're older/NHS workers, and lots of colleagues seem to have had it despite being my age (30s), as well as a lot of people on MN. I feel like I'm the only one left!

Yes. I'm telling myself that I am being vvu and to grow up by 20 years so I can have it

I'm so confused as friends that are younger than me, who I know are not CEV or anything, have had their first jabs. Yet there's still people local to me over 55 that haven't.

Practicalprat · 17/03/2021 19:54

Now I’ve just read about the bloody EU blocking exports of vaccine to uk,so there’ll be a longer wait for under 50s.
They don’t want our AstraZenica yet they don’t want anyone else to have it either.Dog in a Manger springs to mind!

You might not know what underlying conditions they may have...just because they haven't divulged the information to you, doesn't mean they're not a priority
Daisychainsandglitter · 17/03/2021 21:36

I'm 36 and I've got my vaccine booked for Sunday. The text says I have an underlying health condition although I'm not sure what that actually is!

Practicalprat · 17/03/2021 22:01

Crikey I’d be stressing now wondering what my underlying condition is.😬

@garlictwist U.K. population is approx 66 million. I think about 25 million have had their first jab. So you're definitely not the last one left! Over 40 million to go Grin

MiaowMiaow99 · 17/03/2021 22:12

If you're waiting for your gp rather than booking in a mass vaccine centre you're at the mercy of the supply chain to the practice and the age range of the patients. My practice has been stunningly organised, and the majority of patients over 70. So they've whittled through cohorts 7,8 and 9 and starting on 10, which is 'everyone else'

5zeds · 17/03/2021 22:23

Ds is under 18 so can only have the Pfizer. Except the GP haven’t had any Pfizer for weeks. We can’t book at a centre because you have to be over 18...... we are trying not to feel anxious about it.

Fifthtimelucky · 18/03/2021 08:51

Regional variations are largely to blame for this, as others have said.

My siblings and I range from 60 to 54. We live in three different areas and are all being vaccinated this week, but in reverse order. The 54 year old has already been done. The 60 year old will be at the weekend.
