Is it mauve, lavender, lilac, pink or something else?

How would you describe this colour?

@toffeebutterpopcorn

Not magenta so there. Hurumph.
Come on! You know how Pantone get about new colourways. How to sell old rope and all that!

(Used to be a typesetter, pre WYSIWYG Smile )

Oh god - I learned compositing at college and used to do hand mark ups too in my first job (I used to use those wax machines to stick down the artwork)... god how old are we???

CuriousaboutSamphire · 13/03/2021 16:44

Bloody ancient Grin

I started with proof reading - the real kind. Truly a different language.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 13/03/2021 16:48

Oh god yes that too! Reading backwards to check spelling...

Catlover77 · 13/03/2021 16:48

Deep lilac? Dark lilac?

It’s not pink, magenta or purple

ThePricklySheep · 13/03/2021 16:48

Orchid? I would have said Puce, but it seems I’ve been using Puce wrongly.

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/03/2021 16:50

Try orchid pink - although I've just searched for orchid pink cardigans and there seems to be a vast selection between pale pink, through the colour you want OP, to a sort of browny pink.

Catlover77 · 13/03/2021 16:51

I agree with prickly. Chinese ground orchid

AlwaysLatte · 13/03/2021 16:52

Bubblegum pink

noblegreenk · 13/03/2021 16:53

Bright lilac

Catlover77 · 13/03/2021 16:54

Oooh! It isn't often you get to meet someone to share that kind of memory.

Today I am doing well. You and my first real profession and, on another thread, a couple of posters in my equally esoteric current job Smile

CeibaTree · 13/03/2021 17:02

Bright violet?

Jaxhog · 13/03/2021 17:15

Pale Violet.

Although it does depend on your screen!

RobinHumphries · 13/03/2021 17:18

Heather pink

BeeBop1456 · 13/03/2021 17:18

Ultra violet?

lighteincastlewindow · 13/03/2021 17:50

light/bright purple, though on a google image search for purple colour names, it appears to regularly defined as 'orchid'

SwitchUp · 13/03/2021 17:50

I’d say bright lilac.

This has just reminded me of the thread where the OP asked what colour her hair was and the first reply was ‘new potato’ Grin t’was very accurate
