Where do you keep your vegetables like potatoes, carrots etc.

We don't have a garage which I suppose a lot of people keep them.

We currently keep them in a cupboard but I'm forever wiping the shelf because there is always bits etc

Thanks

I know, they stay fresh though.

Apparently turns some of the starches to sugar so makes them sweeter
I wouldn't have room in my fridge for them

Pantry. If there is anything that flakes off like onion skin it gets wiped up a few times a week, it's not a massive issue.

Argh Do NOT put potatoes in the fridge, it's a very bad idea. Find a cool dark cupboard and keep them in a hessian bag.

In a cardboard box in the larder. Onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash and garlic live there. Everything else in the fridge.

Didn't know it could actually make potatoes more dangerous!

minipie · 13/03/2021 18:17

Cardboard box catches any bits and I empty out the bits every so often

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/03/2021 18:21

I’ve got no cupboard space for them. I tried the utility room once but they all sprouted (south facing).

Mine are in a cupboard in something like this.

Depends what it is and what time of year but they're either in the cupboard under the stairs or in the fridge.

Poundland do a hessian bag that has a black lining which helps preserve them for longer.
