Half day/One day 'illness' - anyone else get this?

This doesn't even warrant posting in General Health I don't think but I wondered if anyone else gets 'sick' for really short periods of time?

I'm not talking about getting a headache or something, but more like that feeling just before you get really poorly: temperature, everything aches, exhaustion, upset tummy, headache, shaky and spaced out etc. I get this sometimes and it happened again yesterday. I felt so awful - shivery, hot, weak - even my skin 'hurt' - that I ended up taking to my bed. Now DH and DC were a bit Confused as it came on so suddenly and I'm right as rain today.

But I really did feel quite unwell. I am not someone to 'take to my bed', and this isn't the first or even second time that I've felt like I"m about to get really sick only to turn it round overnight or later in the day. Does this happen to anyone else?

I get this as well...feel really tired and unwell with aches and pains and random hurty bits. An early night will usually sort me out

Yes. Sometimes I think they have been IBS flare-ups. Sometimes over tired/stressed.

Yes. And it always coincides with days off work.

My sickness record is zilch

I don’t know what it is but so far in my life I seem to have fought off pretty much everything within a 12 hour window. I even had COVID on 48 hour leave then went back to work (early days when you couldn’t get a test)

not personally but DP is like this. He is almost never unwell with anything, together 15 years and has never had day off work or even a prolonged cold but once or twice a year he suddenly gets home from work looking rough, sounds full of a cold or very red and unwell looking, takes to bed, worries me sick (especially during the pandemic) and then gets up the next day with all symptoms gone after a sleep and pops off to work.

Yes, I used to get this before menopause. My immune system dealt really quickly with things...a fever for one day, chills, vexhaustion, next day fine. I used to eat quantities of parsley and red chilli Thai chicken soups when I felt that wave, and it seemed to help zap it before it took hold.
