How long does it take you to eat a meal?

Say if you're on your own so not chatting/doing other stuff, just sat down to eat your lunch or tea? Thinking about "normal" food so a sandwich and crisps/yoghurt or something like cottage pie/pasta
There's a reason Grin I spent a decade in a job where you had to throw your food down your neck and I'm starting to wonder if I still eat too fast...

Ages. It’s a real problem.

A sandwich would easily take me 25-30 minutes. For lunch while I’m working, I just take bites over the course of an hour or so.

A full meal would be an hour or more.
At the weekend, I had a Big Mac and fries and it took me just over an hour to eat it.

I usually plate half my dinner and put the rest into a warm oven so I’m not eating cold food all the time.

When I eat out with friends, they’ve been known to ask me to get my main course at the same time that they get starters so they’re not sitting for ages afterwards watching me eat while they’re waiting for dessert.

I hate it.

Incidentally, as much as I’d like to be faster, I’d hate to be someone who wolfs down food in minutes. Fast eaters turn my stomach.

I used to date a guy who was an exceptionally fast eater. It was so embarrassing in a restaurant when the waiter would drop our meals, come back two minutes later to check on us, and my BF’s plate was clean (and his fingers licked. Vom).

Then I’d have to sit there for ages while he invariably turned his attention to my food.

Depends on what it is and also how hungry I am! If it's e.g. a burger and chips and I'm ravenous,5 minutes would be the average. A sandwich, drink and packet of crisps, about the same. A bigger meal,e.g. fish and chips,or cheese omelette, chips and peas would take 15 - 20 minutes if I was really hungry. I've always regarded myself as a fairly quick eater. I have a friend who would take 45 minutes to eat fish and chips probably because she talks so much

Depends but about 5 minutes, more or less. Don't like my food getting cold - it puts me off it so I think I automatically wolf down my food without meaning to. At least I don't inhale it all in 30 seconds like some people I know 😆
