Highest: 6 bed detached house in not great Nick £4.5 mil (if you go just outside my postcode there are houses for 20 mil, though)

Cheapest: 1 bed flat in a small block for £131k (but it has a service charge, so will rack up to more in the long run).

FreezerBird · 05/03/2021 20:31

Mrsfrumble · 05/03/2021 20:34

Howmanysleepsnow · 05/03/2021 20:34

Oh, and the two houses are on parallel streets one road apart.

ZednotZee · 05/03/2021 20:36

£650,000 four bed beachfront detached

£45,000 one bed flat in bedsit land.

These are within a quarter of a mile of each other.

I live on the Wirral and its famous for privilege and poverty living cheek by jowl.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/03/2021 20:36

25k for a damp ridden ground floor 2bed flat on a horrible street.

595k for a 5bed detatched home on a lovely street.

MrsPworkingmummy · 05/03/2021 20:37

I'm in the North East. There are two properties 100 yards from me for sale for £1,000,000. Here is one of them (both sold)

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/77751952#/

We are around £300,000/£350,000.

A short distance further down the road, you can buy for £50 000!
www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/103573898#/

We are city centre which accounts for some of the variation. These properties are within 50 steps of one another!

boobot1 · 05/03/2021 20:38

North east
1.8million 7 bed detached
130k 2 bed flat

Figmentofimagination · 05/03/2021 20:40

I used the first part of my postcode only as my street is small.

Cheapest is a 1 bed downstairs flat for £45k. Was listed September at £59,950 and then reduced in Feb.

Most expensive is a 5 bedroom house overlooking the sea with its own indoor swimming pool for £599,995. Was listed October at £625k and then reduced this week.

Figmentofimagination · 05/03/2021 20:40

Oh, forgot to say I'm in the north west.

mocktheweek1 · 05/03/2021 20:45

Most £550,000 8 bed detached

Least £37,500 park home

NellietheNumpty · 05/03/2021 20:45

Small town on the south coast.

Twospaniels · 05/03/2021 20:46

I live rurally so did a 3 mile radius search.
Most expensive is £1million, a 5 bed equestrian property
Cheapest is £264,000 for a 4 bed semi (ex local authority) in a village

TheGriffle · 05/03/2021 20:46

£55,000 3 bed terrace is the cheapest and a 5 bed detached at £700,000 is the most expensive within 1 mile of my postcode. South Yorkshire.

Volcanoexplorer · 05/03/2021 20:48

Lots that are POA, but similar properties have sold for between 3-4 million. Cheapest is 2 bed flat for 54K that’s 50% shared ownership. My house is probably around 350K.

merryhouse · 05/03/2021 20:51

Presumably OP means the first half of your postcode?

Mine has a POA, though I'm not convinced it would be more than the Grade 1 listed part-mediaeval structure which is on at £3million (I definitely need to win the lottery, had no idea they were selling).

Normally the half-dozen between 1 and 1.5 million would be at the top.

Down at the other end of the scale is a park home at £55k. There's several of those, a one-bedroom apartment which is part of a house on a 60s estate for £63k, a one-bedroom apartment which was intended as an apartment for £77.5k, several more apartments, and a terraced cottage in a fairly drab through-road area for £90k.

QueenOfPain · 05/03/2021 20:51

There’s nothing at all for sale in my postcode.

Thighdentitycrisis · 05/03/2021 20:55

How are you defining your area ? Eg in London

FlyingBurrito · 05/03/2021 20:55

@QueenOfPain

There’s nothing at all for sale in my postcode.
My postcode only covers my street and there's nothing for sale on mine either.
Animum2 · 05/03/2021 20:55

1 house with 10 bedrooms for 4.4 million, next house is 5 beds for 800,000

Cheapest is 1 bed flat for 111000 with shares ownership
