I shall be WFH indefinitely as my work have decided to save money and sell of the office building.

One thing I have loved about WFH is that when home schooling finishes the DCs and I sit down for a cup of tea and a quick snack. So far this has revolved around scones and jam, pancakes, little cakes, cheese on toast and that sort of thing and it has been such a lovely way to take stock and reconnect with the family. But I am running out of fun tasty ideas!

I'd love some more ideas if anyone is willing to give them. :)

This is a very easy method of making icing for buns etc. No need to sift the sugar unless it's really old & lumpy. No beating, just a quick stir. Very quick to do & it sets in minutes (it really does, you have to be quick !) I've done it plain, or flavoured with coffee, both excellent.

Some savoury things that would go with your sherry
Hard boiled quail eggs with celery salt to dip them in.
Cubed cheese, Gouda or Edam type, with celery salt.
Savoury pastries, most supermarkets have a range of these with cheese, vegetable or meat fillings.
Filo pastry or crumbed large prawns, mayonnaise or sweet chilli sauce for dipping.
Slices of salami rolled up.
Breaded mozzarella sticks from the freezer cabinet.
Prawn toast.

Warm mini scotch eggs? Flapjack? Warm cookies straight from the oven (cheat with pre made cookie dough that you just plonk pieces of on a baking tray!) Lovely idea OP.

There are some lovely ideas on here. How about bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese?

Such lovely ideas thank you everyone. :)

Today was hot buttered crumpets and milky tea in front of the fire (I was having an Enid Blyton moment).

I have a lovely long list of everyone's suggestions on the fridge. :) Thank you all so much!
