Child's bed next to radiator

My 3 year old really needs to move to a single bed (currently in a small toddler bed). Because of the width of the room I can't fit a single bed in the place the toddler bed is so would have to turn it lengthways. The only problem is then the single bed would be under the window and against the radiator. Have any of you had the same thing and was it ok?

Turn the radiator off at night in cold weather
But kids aren't stupid, once they're cold they'll turn it back on again!

They won’t be cold once they are asleep. Our heating goes off around 11pm anyway even in winter. Plus if they are big enough to operate the valves they are probably old enough to not touch hot rad. In any event it’s summer!

We’re moving (fingers crossed) in the next couple of months and are facing a similar(ish) decision.

We can fit a full size bed under the window - no rad on that wall and rubbish insulation. Or we can put a full size bed on the interior wall, which has a small radiator at one end.

What I’m leaning towards is actually changing the current radiator to one that is long and thin like the one in the pic (random screen grab off google) so the room still gets heated but I’m not worrying about my son laying against it at bedtime/in the morning.

@GhoulWithADragonTattoo Yes, it’s summer now, but if I’m going to reorganise the bedroom and possibly buy new furniture, I’d quite like it all to last beyond when the heating goes on!
