Anyone else had long grass this year? We had many mild days much later into the autumn and apart from when it dipped below 7 degrees C it seems to have continued to grow almost to the point it will get too long if I leave any longer. I mowed it with the box off which is what I normally do first time, but never had to do it before the last week of March. I suppose it is not as if I had anything else to do...
We are in the midlands and get the usual mix of weather.

DH did ours today. In fact I was just thinking about Christmas Day a couple of years ago when it was so mild he mowed the lawn before turkey! Suppose we'll get one more frost before we can relax and get planting etc, I kept forgetting it was only February, it was so mild today.

Too early for bedding plants here in Central Scotland, but did a lot of clearing and burning of old growth today in preparation. Might start sowing a few seed indoors soon. Still a risk of frost where we are.

You are not allowed to mow the lawn before Easter! Put those mowers away. Or face the wrath of my granny, who is the RBG of gardens. She knows what to do and when.

We did as well as the grass has suddenly sprung up in the past week. I remember having to do it last year early March.

Done mine today, front and back.

I'm getting some longer patches, but not quite ready for a cut yet. I often have cut it by the last week of February and we are more than halfway to the equinox. The grass grows when it's from about 10⁰C

My last cut tends to be late Oct/ early Nov depending on the weather/ ground conditions. That went quite well this time and I managed to get the majority of the leaves with it. It's annoying when it's just too wet (edpecially if mild) to get a last cut in, and the grass is annoyingly tufty by January.
