Looking forward to seeing all the little baby eurofighters.

NoMackerelInSwindon · 24/02/2021 19:05

About three weeks ago I watched several planes from the Saudi Royal Air Force fly in over UK air space then eventually descend to land over the west coast of Ireland. This was about 3am in the morning. You lot were in bed - didn't want to wake you. One plane was a big private jet.

@Cantflex

Can you see the chinnook over the chiltern hills?
Chinooks over Lambourn also. Lots of activity tonight.

I suppose they will have to rename Chinooks soon. Like the Cherokee Jeep model.

@Cantflex

How do you know it's a eurofighter? It's showing as a normal plane to me...
It’s a eurofighter call sign. If you google it you can check.
Cantflex · 24/02/2021 19:09

Guess they're out for practice? What else could they be doing this time?

That's the EAP Grin

Although it came first, but it is cute. I remember watching the first flight. Very exciting.

NoMackerelInSwindon · 24/02/2021 19:13

Two civvy Dassault Falcon's over North Yorkshire Moors. Owned by Cobham plc maker's of weapons systems so this must be a trial of something. Most planes have now switched off as far as Flight Radar 24 is concerned.

What about those balloons going over Kenya?

Bluetrews25 · 24/02/2021 19:21

How long is the gestation period for aircraft?

NoMackerelInSwindon · 24/02/2021 19:22

Project Loon.

Wow! That's quite short considering how highly developed they are at birth! Compare with a human baby who can't even sit up for 6 months....

These are up almost daily over the North Sea. It's RAF training.

Cobham Aviation were doing similar on the south coast a couple of days ago.

MargaretThursday · 26/02/2021 13:05

Looks like 8 now!

Handsnotwands · 26/02/2021 13:20

The MOD have been exploding their end of year underspend all over Salisbury plain for the last week. Do their helicopters show up? That would’ve been quite a show a few nights ago

MargaretThursday · 26/02/2021 13:29

Full 9 in groups of 3s over North Wales. Red Arrows?
