'Have a good weekend'- ???

Is it just me or is anyone else a bit errrr.....when friends say this?

I am WFH part time. Partner is retired.
Weekends are the same as all the other 5 days of the week.
Nowhere to go other than walks, no one to see, so I can't get why people wish me a happy weekend.

I'm with you, OP. It drives me nuts. Why can't people just say "Bye"? I have a friend who always says to me, "Don't work too hard!". She knows I am a freelance and struggle to get enough work but presumably doesn't think about that when she says it.

Bloody hell, this is Mumsnet all over - people getting offended about other people being pleasant to them! Grin

My weekends are lovely 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really look forward to them.

No emails, no colleagues, no Zoom meetings, no sitting in my spare room staring at my laptop for ten hours a day with no real company, no exhaustedly making dinner and collapsing on the sofa afterwards. I bloody love weekends.

You're lucky to have so much free time, OP. Plenty of ways to occupy it even in lockdown, with a bit of imagination.

You are being weird about OP
