Where to find a vegan birthday cake in lockdown?

It will be DD's birthday later this month and she is vegan and soya and chocolate intolerant. I have been trying in vain to find a cake for her. Our local and wonderful supplier is closed and the ones I have researched on the internet all seem to have soya in them.

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but I was just wondering if you wonderful MN'ers might have any suggestions? DD has had a very difficult year, including losing her dad a few months ago - he had his terminal diagnosis on her last birthday - so I would like to try to find something special, if at all possible.

I know I should just try to make one myself, but I am a bit of a rubbish baker and don't want to disappoint her.

The Tesco caterpillar cake isn't vegan as far as I can see? Got v excited so checked it out but it has egg in it.
The Ogg cakes are vegan and non soya, they are nice but not very special. I think you might have to resort to making one! 😬

I second Oggs. You can get a celebration oggs cake in waitrose, maybe also sainsburys. They also do v cute mini cakes, 4 per box and have a few flavours of those. The Bosh receipes and box kits are good. All as stated before oggs do cartons of aquafaba. I know asda have a great selection of vegan cakes now. (Daughter is egg and nut allergic so birthday cakes bloody nightmare)

That's a good idea, a load of the little Oggs cakes on a cupcake display and jazzed up with decorations/sprinkles etc. That could look good.

We did a big pile of donuts for DD with icing and sauce, sparklers and candles...

I recently discovered Bosh! vegan cakes which are soya free. I've only had the chocolate one but they do a lemon one too. The website said it's available at Asda, Tesco and Morrison's.

I've found the MsCupcake vegan cake recipes easy to follow. Whilst they use soya milk, it would be possible to replace with any plant-based milk.
In terms of non-chocolate you could sub carob for a similar effect, or try caramel, lemon, strawberry or coconut depending on what is liked.

I will definitely be ordering the cake stand, thanks 'ground control', as Alice in Wonderland is DD's favourite book.

Thanks Upset. I have just contacted them but unfortunately all cakes contain soya. It's a shame, as they offer same day delivery.

Most of the companies mentioned have soya in their vegan cakes.

I have never come across cocoa intolerance before. Usually it is the milk in milk chocolate that is the issue.

I hope you can find or bake something your DD likes. Cakes made with oil would be a good bet given the soya intolerance.
