How’s Your Valentines Day Going?

We’ve pared it right back this year with no presents but we exchanged cards & we’re having a steak dinner with sirloins that were already in the freezer. I picked up a Couples Quiz for £2 at Tescos. DH is reluctant but he’ll have a go for a me. Went to Asda & couldn’t resist a Valentines panda for DD12. She’s panda mad & has been feeling very down lately. Will catch up with DOI later & might choose a film if we’re not too sleepy. I went to bed at about 1am, despite being tired after a 7 hour shift.

Terse valentines day in our house, usually swap stupid cards or get a daft gift (h previously hit me an ironing board cover) etc.

This year not good atmosphere after message - "Gate (a diff thread Re that!) meaning dh brought home gin (rarely drink) flowers (not fussed about them, dh has prev said he knows I'm not fussed, he likes to buy them) and chocs. So no in joke personal gift, just clichéd crap.

Dc2 wished me happy valentine which is sweet.

Lovely day here - normal really but we did make an effort to get a card and present which we normally don't do because well, it's all a bit shit at the moment.

Now with a poorly child and a sick bowl!

Last night we had a nice meal and put dc to bed .DP set up the foot spa for me and said he was going to do a DIY pedicure for me as all the beauticians are shut..
After soaking my feet, he gave me a nice foot rub and rubbed cream into them. I then said he could have a go at painting my toes if he wanted to,which he did and wasn’t too bad!
He said he enjoyed doing something nice for me.
