Oh how I miss dinner parties.

Please tell me about your most memorable ones and dream ones and literary ones, and who you will have over when it's ok to do so, and what you will eat and drink.

These menus sound great

I could tell you about the the dinner party at a friend's flat where the boyfriend made a massive spag bol then announced it contained 200 magic mushrooms.

Fucking hell. That was intense.

We love a dinner party. Usually it’s 8 people in total and always people we’ve been friends with for a long time (20 plus years) so it’s relaxed, but always 3 courses plus cheese. I like to make things that are pre prepared so I don’t have to spend too much time at the cooker. Per dinner gin or fizz or beer, wine with the meal. The finish time is later now none of us have babysitters, we are more getting to grandparent time of life. I miss my mates and the fun.

Havent done one since we had DC but I used to love it.

Crisps and booze when people arrived

Starter maybe homemade pate with brioche or a smoked salmon salad or if we were playing games some canapes in the living room

Main whatever i fancied. A lamb casserole or a tagine or duck breasts or whatever.

Pudding.(was feeling a bit fuzzy by this point) - creme brulee or chocolate fondant or something else I fancied. Pudding wine with it

Always cheese afterwards with port.

Then tea and coffee wot homemade After Eight if I had the time.

It seems a lifetime ago.

Never been into it.

Always imagine it to be a contrived event for desperate repressed couples to perve on other desperate repressed couples, under the guise of pretending to be interested in food and wine.

@AfterSchoolWorry have you been watching Abigail’s Party Grin
