@MNerGoneRogueAgain

A one two three four John the Baptist knows the score 80s

This one might be tough. Our Honey-pie often recognizes the lyrics, but has said she doesn't particularly like the group

It’s Half man half biscuit - the God one. I don’t like the music but I do appreciate their funny lyrics usually.
Honeyroar · 13/02/2021 16:22

You’re going to have to pace yourself posting lyrics rather than “Rogue’s weekly dump”!!

@midgedude

Human touch Springsteen

Hi I'm here almost ... in two weeks time I will share joy or misery with you all but feeling superstitious . And maybes some lyrics too

correct, Midge.

Not sure I totally understand your post. Does that mean something nice might be happening to you in a couple of weeks and you'll let us know then whether or not it does?

If so, finger's crossed for you that it all pans out as you hope x

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 13/02/2021 18:12

To midge who wrote:

Walking on sunshine

Martha and muffins ?

Correct to song title. So woefully wrong as to the singer/group that you must forfeit many, many points.

Correct for Echo and the Bunnymen. I fell into a vortex early and watched the video on Youtube. He was so young and pretty!!!! I never noticed back in the day. Also, I remember thinking back then that they were all pretty old Grin
I guess there's probably 3 or 4 years in it.

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 13/02/2021 18:29

Dexter - correct for TfF and Sowing the Seeds of Love.

Dexter - correct again for the Proclaimers, but the song is actually called 500 miles, not 5000, so no points, I'm afraid.

Well done Honey for HMHB. The song's called God Gave Us Life. You did very well to get it from that, as it's just the intro. Did you at some point in your life having people/someone living in close proximity who was a big fan (I'm think ex bf, shared house or something)? Cos considering you'd don't like them, you get them very easily.

Pantry - correct for Katrina and the Waves You get midge's points there, Pantry.

Pantry - also correct for Simple Minds and Don't You Forget About Me. Gutted to have missed that gig.

And Pantry again, correct for Jesus and Mary Chain. I was soooo ill at that gig. I was only 17 or 18, and it was in Brixton. Not drink or drugs ill. Flu. I puked my way up to and then around London and felt so rubbish. But they were my bf's favourite band, and he begged me not to give up and go home. He managed to blag us a lift to get home, though, which was sweet cos I really wasn't well.

Pantry (again) - correct with Laid and James.

Flea - correct and you're brave, zipping in with a KB one under FlouncingB's nose. I suspect she'll huff about that one later.

Correct with Crash, Flea. And Honey's right - it's the Primitives.

Honey is right with Planet Earth and Duran Duran. I knew you'd get that one, Honey-pie. You're our little gothy Durannie!

Shiny is correct with Adam and the Ants and Ant Music.

It IS Pulp, Shiny, and I'm impressed you got it from that one line. But I'm thinking I'm going to dock you points, as the song is, in fact called DO YOU remember the first time. And you don't disrespect my Jarvis! Aka Mr Rogue no 2 Wink

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 13/02/2021 18:32

Pantry, when you say
I raised a family
In times of austerity
With sweat at the foundry
80s

Sounds as if it might be Billy Bragg

Can't think of the title but I can hear his voice doing this bit

you are correct. Do you want to have a crack at the title (or anyone)? Or are more lyrics needed. For me, it's the song I always associate with him more than any other. Very, very, very 80s, anti-Thatcher, poli'ical!. Love him!
