salmon chips and what?

Feeling uninspired. We've got salmon and chips in the freezer....peas??

Hollandaise sauce. Uses lots of butter and egg yolks but is divine...

I'm putting an arrest warrant out for whoever suggested gravy with salmon.

Coleslaw’s a good call, and then you can have a massive dollop of Hellman’s 🙂

Although I really like to steep the salmon in lime/lemon juice, a few chilli flakes, splash of oil, good shake of soy and then put it on the hottest griddle ever until the skin is black, turn the griddle off and turn over the salmon

Serve it with noodles tossed in a little sesame oil, and maybe some slivers of chilli and spring onion through them.

Also frying it in a nice deep pan after daubing red pesto is nice....not such a fierce heat though and if you have a lid or a cover use it, cos pesto spits like the very devil. Nice lemony buttery pasta with that.

If it has to be chips, then I'd go with peas.
Salmon and chips is a bit odd to me though, I'd usually have noodles or salad.

Samphire?

Leave the chips. Mashed potatoes and green beans.

Me too!!! Gravy???

We had this yesterday - peas blitzed up to make posh mushy peas. With some form of interesting flavour (garlic butter yesterday, but sometimes a bit of tabasco, or chilli jam, or sometimes just a nice big dollop of creme fraiche).

You need way more peas than you think though - they blitz down to nothing!

There is a fast 800 receipe with salmon and broccoli with soy sauce and cherry tomatoes cooked in oven. That's lovely.

Stir-fried peppers?

Or mix with rice, spring Oniins sweet chilli sauce and lime juice. Also good.

May have frozen mash.

Its a scraping out the freezer scenario. Pretty sure there's no samphire in there 🤔

We always have salmon, new potatoes and asparagus or sweet corn.

I would choose broccoli with salmon.

Mango and soy sauce

Roasted peppers, tomatoes and onions.

Pesto mixed with breadcrumbs (and maybe a little grated lemon zest) to make a herb crust for the salmon and spaghetti or linguine dressed with olive oil and black pepper on the side.

salad with lemon, or Brocolli/ Cauli, Peas, green beans, not all of these obviously.

Or green beans. Or with peas through pasta.

I was a bit thrown at the thought of having chips with salmon and then the third response was to have gravy with salmon! Chicken and chips with gravy would be lovely. Salmon and chips and gravy, not so much!
I’d have salmon, pasta and cheese sauce, with some kind of veg, (depends what I’d got in).

But we normally have salmon with new potatoes, green beans and baby corn and hollandaise sauce.

Oh freezer dipping is different.
In that case most things go, but definitely not gravy.

I think it would go together, Salmon is quite a meaty fish!
