This isn't my house, but I'm looking to get a kitchen similar to this one in design.

If you have a kitchen like this, what are the practical day to day things I need to consider? For example, with the sink in the island I won't want soap for hand washing sitting out, or hand creme like I have currently. Where would they go?
Also do you have recycling bins in a cupboard in the island?

Your family must be better trained than mine then 😂. I’d either constantly be putting stuff away, or getting pissed of that somebody else hasn’t out their crap away again.

Or fed up of the muddy/oily/paint marks on the handle of the door where the soap is kept

If you don't want hand marks on sink doors you can get foot pedal operated ones which are great especially for bin pull outs.
