Afternoon all (although only just). I've written nearly 5,000 words on a project this morning and have just emerged for a brew. Anything I could have answered has already been answered. Hope all is well out there.

Sorry, I meant to comment on this during my mammoth catch up this morning! Amazing pic. I've heard of them but never seen one before. Aren't they what John macarrick (sp?????) nicknamed his wife? Because they're so stupid

Also, is it just my mucky mind that thought "a pair of boobies" mentioned on the thread was funny in a fnar-fnar kind of a way?

I’m fine Honey! Sorry for the dramatic announcement followed by silence. Haven’t had a chance today to get on to the thread.

I think the problem yesterday was caused by someone (that would be me ) leaving some firewood rather too close to the wood burner. We’d noticed the room seemed to be very smokey and opened all the windows and shut the fire down but it didn’t seem to be clearing so we went to sit in the other room. Then later the CO detector went off even though the fire had gone out. Only noticed as I was going to bed some wood was merrily smouldering away beside the fire!

I then compounded the issue by putting the wood into the stove and closing the door to keep it ‘safe’ but we’d already shut the air vents down so the stove just filled up with smoke. So then I opened the door. So then the room filled up with smoke again...

I don’t think I’m a very good grown-up...

Flouncing that sounds quite scary. Lucky you found the smouldering log! Maybe you need some nice, fit firemen to come round and give you some fire safety training. I'm sure Coffee can find it some!
