What things do you find weirdly satisfying?

I'm sure everyone has at least one odd, sometimes cringey thing that they find satisfying. Mine is pulling hair out of DD's PlayDoh. She always manages to get some hairs stuck to her playdoh and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy slowly pulling it out when tidying Grin any others?

I really love watching calligraphy or images of really neat handwriting.

I love a good blackhead squeezing video on YouTube too.

dementedma · 02/02/2021 21:23

Earwax removal videos!

ConkerBonkers · 02/02/2021 21:24

I like popping blackheads too, getting ingrown hairs free, and I find tweezing hairs out to be very satisfying indeed. I possibly have a bit of a compulsion with picking at things if I'm honest.

Thedarknightsarelifting · 02/02/2021 21:25

Another oddball who loves popping spots.

winemonster · 02/02/2021 21:27

This! It’s been 9 year’s since my horse of 20 years passed away but I still miss picking out those mud packed hooves, especially if it all came out frog shaped with a big squelch 🙈

PickAChew · 02/02/2021 21:28

Pinging clips off paint tins.
Similarly, pinging the clips that hold the leaves of our extending table together. The mechanism is awesome.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 02/02/2021 21:28

Plucking the random hairs that grow out my face 😂

Historydweeb · 02/02/2021 21:29

Tweezing ingrowing hairs, even more so if I need a needle to unpick it Smile lovely. Same for tweezing DPs ingrown head hairs mmmmmmm

Historydweeb · 02/02/2021 21:30

And plucking split ends. The ones that snap off my bleached bits. I know its wrong but its so relaxing

lozengeoflove · 02/02/2021 21:30

Soap carving videos on Pinterest. They are amazing. So satisfying when knife cuts though pre-carved tiny squares and they fall away. Also, the sound is like heaven for ears.

LApprentiSorcier · 02/02/2021 21:33

Some of you should get over to Sporner Corner Wink

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sporner_corner

The place for pics of blackheads, ear wax etc.

Northernshepherd · 02/02/2021 21:34

Getting the cat hair out from between the keys on my keyboard with a needle, so absorbing.

Sgtmajormummy · 02/02/2021 21:39

Putting gravy in the fridge and peeling the grease off when it’s gone cold.
Even better if the stock underneath has turned into jelly and it all plops out into the next recipe.

And nibbling all the chocolate off a KitKat.

The only sport I like is when hard blackheads come out and leave a clean hole. The ones they spear and squeeze blood out of must be doing more harm than good!

Sgtmajormummy · 02/02/2021 21:40

*sporn not sport!

marriednotdead · 02/02/2021 21:41

Cleaning the fluff out of the tumble dryer filters.

Digging dried mud out of boots.

Folding hot towels.

Flossing my teeth.

dillusional · 02/02/2021 21:55

Popping a boil on my face and watching the wretched thing squirt on the mirror gives me the satisfaction of applying good pressure! Don't worry, I antibac wipe the mirror and clean it.

Labobo · 02/02/2021 21:58

Popping bubble wrap. Sadly it drives Dh nuts but the joy when something arrives in bubblewrap and I get to pop it.

Brushing my fingers over surfaces while I'm out walking - rusty railings, rough stone walls, trees and grasses.

Don't get the ASMR thing at all. Just looked it up and got creeped out by a video of some woman's fingernails scraping over a few surfaces.

Labobo · 02/02/2021 21:59

And tumble drier fluff filter cleaning. Bliss.

Passthecake30 · 02/02/2021 22:07

Hanging out washing, cleaning the fluff filter in the tumble drier, picking hair out of the bath plug hole, squirting rinse aid into the dishwasher cleaner, arranging the tins in my kitchen cupboards - these are all my “jobs” and I don’t let anyone else do them Blush

letsgomaths · 02/02/2021 22:07

My DH wrapping my presents: it's our law that he does it in front of me. I can't see what my presents are because I'm blindfolded, but that's a small price to pay for hearing the satisfying sounds of paper and sellotape, knowing that it's for me. Smile
