I thought there was a dedicated 'Ask Me Anything' forum on Mumsnet, but I can't find it? Anyway, I know it's not the most exciting topic, but I thought might be helpful if anyone's considering one but is still undecided. They are so expensive!

I recently bought the Aldi one and I absolutely love it! It really helps my nerve/arthritic pain.

Can I ask those of you with one, what's the best way to wash them?

@IRBRTAFL I can't adjust this one as it's just one giant woven thingy, nothing to add or subtract. I feel like it's the perfect weight for me. The first couple of weeks it felt a bit claustrophobic trying to turn over in bed with it on top, but I'm used to it now.

@joeyroo

I use it with a duvet. It certainly wouldn't be warm enough to use without at this time of year. In fact I think the brand I have is cooler than a regular blanket, as I wouldn't normally have one of those over my winter bedding which is a thick fleecy material. In summer I plan to use it as an alternative to a duvet, inside a duvet cover (during heat waves anyway) though how well that will work I don't know. I'm really used to the weight now and think I'd struggle without it.

I hated mine, couldn't lug it around the house well

I bought a Bell&Howell blanket for DD (QVC) . I looked at reviews for other blankets .
Ones with removeable washable covers , from the reviews , seem to be the ones that shift about .
DD blanket has stitched squares to keep the glass beads where they should be .
It is washable (hand wash) but that's not going to happen, it weighs enough dry .

Hers is double bed sized , stays in place .
Her sleep patterns were all to pot over the Summer so this was to help her before University started .
She loves hers , like being swaddled securely like a baby Smile
