anyone else come off FB?

I have deactivated my FB & uninstalled messenger.

Found it was just making me feel worse about everything at the moment. I have had 24 hours off now - think am feeling brighter already. Am sure will go back at some stage but no idea when. It is my birthday next week & I don't feel bothered at all that no one will wish me happy birthday. Feel so much of it is fake or look-at-me stuff.

Do what you want OP, it’s not compulsory to be on FB.

This place is sometimes far more depressing imho, no offence MNHQ.

I deactivated my account as part of my New Years resolution to spend less time on social media. I honestly thought I’d cave in and reactivate it but I haven’t missed it at all.

I’d already unfriended and unfollowed quite a few people on it (mostly my in-laws) and was just sick of all the political shite, MLMs, happy families “isn’t our life so perfect” stuff. I dislike Instagram for the same reason and that might be the next one I deactivate.

The only thing I miss is being able to check out business pages easily (you can see some info but can’t view their full page without an account). We’re having a lot of work done on our house so it’s handy to be able to check reviews etc.

definitely unfriending people you dont actually know or speak to in RL is a bonus.. i'm down to about 50ish people on there, all family/friends i'd actually give the time of day to.. i've got rid of everyone else on there.

I got bored of the never ending sequence of adverts, pictures of someones dinner and unfunny memes.
