Pronunciation dilemma

How would you be pronouncing the name Esmée? Hubby and I expecting our arrival v soon. We like the pronunciation ‘Ez-May’ but are in disagreement as to how to spell it. The proposed alternative is Esmé

I know an Esme, pronounced mee. I'm in Wales so Esmai (suggested by pp), I would pronounce as My. Just go with the spelling you prefer, as you can see from the responses there is no definitive answer.

I would pronounce both Esmé and Esmée as Ez-may because of the accent on the e as pp have said. I prefer the more streamlined Esmé

I would pronounce Esme with no acute on the e as Ez-mee.
