What can you hear?

I'm laying in bed pretending to have a nap. I can hear dh downstairs with my 2 DS doing some sort of science activity. Ds2 got it for his birthday. It's lovely to hear them enjoy an activity together as things are far from harmonious here lately (Dh with a medical issue and waiting treatment and ds1 beginning the autism assessment process).

Those three are warming my heart right now

Dishwasher, birdsong and next door neighbours bumbling about in their garden

MotherOfGremlins · 17/01/2021 13:09

DS1 playing Roblox with a friend he's WhatsApping with, the sound of the boiler doing its thing, distant starlings in the allotments out the back of the house.

(This is a lovely thread - very relaxing!)

niceberg · 17/01/2021 13:17

Washing machine.
Music on DD2's maths game.
DDs chatting and laughing intermittently at the game.
Nice actually! Thank you OP for that bit of mindfulness.

Im having a sit down on my walk. On the side of a mountain enjoying the total quiet.

itsgettingweird · 17/01/2021 13:52

Nothing!

Apart from birds outside there's nothing.

It's bliss!

Bellag79 · 17/01/2021 13:58

Unfortunately lots of sirens, blood pressure machine and nurses walking on squeaky floors.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 17/01/2021 14:00

Are you ok Bellag?

MuckleMadMoose · 17/01/2021 14:11

Baby DD (19 days old) lying on my chest making baby noises.
My 2 older DS's playing on their switches.
Alexa playing Taylor Swifts new album.

HUCKMUCK · 17/01/2021 14:18

Bathroom fan. Just got out of the shower after doing an early work shift this morning.

DH is puttering in the kitchen, sounds like he’s emptying the dishwasher.

DS (15) playing online and can hear him laughing with his friends.

All very content.

Envious of snuggly babies and hope you’re ok @Bellag79 Flowers

Bellag79 · 17/01/2021 15:05

I had a hysterectomy that went wrong and was left with a nephrostomy which is a tube that comes from my kidney and out of my back.

I had the tube changed 2 weeks ago but its now out of place so I am going back to theatre in the morning.

It has been the most awful few months.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 17/01/2021 15:28

Oh crikey Bellag

I don’t know if this will be a long term thing for you but I hope your procedure goes well tomorrow and that your recovery goes as well as you hope Flowers

onyourway · 17/01/2021 15:33

DS chopping wood for tonight's fire, my tummy rumbling and the odd car, plus birds chirping away.

Legitimacy · 17/01/2021 16:15

The washer running and my baby snoozing

ChrissyHynde · 17/01/2021 16:17

DS watching phineas and fern and the tap dripping as I lounge in the bath

UnholyStramash · 17/01/2021 16:17

Tinnitus

H1978 · 17/01/2021 16:17

Dcs playing overcooked and a lot of excited shouting.

Gas fire making occasional ticky noises which is really comforting because it’s freezing here.

The odd car driving past, we don’t have a front garden so we can hear everything.

kennelmaid · 17/01/2021 16:24

Football discussion on the TV. Hum of the oven cooking our vegan sausage casserole and DH clattering about in the kitchen. Dog gently snoring. All quiet outside.

Chimeraforce · 17/01/2021 16:28

The droning monotone of some boring fishing fucker on u tube.
Partner is watching videos loudly as he's deaf but refuses to admit or get help so it's like living with elderly person.

lilfoxfur · 17/01/2021 16:30

My gerbils gnawing on a cardboard box and Dh watching football

Sober4Summer20 · 17/01/2021 17:08

A lovely song playing at the end of a bbc drama I'm watching and the sound of youtube and rustling ice lolly wrappers coming out of the play room :) xx

Sheleg · 17/01/2021 17:15

Baby DD breathing in her sleep, and DH upstairs talking to a mate on the phone. I can also hear my tummy rumbling. Time for a snack Grin

ScarletORyan · 17/01/2021 17:15

Washing machine churning round
Dog slurping up water and then scratching his belly
