So, priorities. I need to check on the fundamentally important facts of life.

Is MacDonalds open for walk ins or just drive throughs?

Obv not done in but we normally order on the app then walk over and collect but March lockdown they closed entirely

Oh yeah, delivery is £1.99 which is high if you are just ordering for one. Doesn't seem so bad when ordering for hungry kids, with sides and McFlurrys...

SleepingStandingUp · 06/01/2021 23:08

Oh I thought I was more. Who's that with? It's a happy meal and a chicken strip's but o can add apple pie to make it worth it lol

Delivery cost varies by restaurant; some are as high as £5.99.

Wonder if Subway in Spar is open

Oh I didn't know they varied delivery costs locally. Ours is £1.99 on JustEat but there's quite a lot of competition in our small city so they probably would lose business if they charged more (we have KFC, Nando's, Burger King plus numerous independent pizza/chip/chicken/kebab places etc)

WhatACrockOfShit · 07/01/2021 11:07

@TooMinty you have Burger King? I have burger envy now

AldiIsla · 07/01/2021 11:21

An email from McDonald's, doesn't look like you can have it unless you drive which seems unfair

Maybe write to your MP?

It depends on the distance. My nearest McDonald’s is 1.5 miles away and Uber eats states that delivery is £3.99 because ‘this restaurant is quite far away’.

However I frequently get 50% discount vouchers for Ubereats so it tends to balance out if I can’t be bothered driving there Grin

PearlescentIridescent · 07/01/2021 11:45

My UberEats app is telling me that they have no delivery fee at McDonald's at the momen if you spend £10 :)

TooMinty Delivery prices vary due to a lot of factors. Usually when a restaurant first starts offering delivery the price is higher and then decreases as time goes on.

AldiIsla Is this a joke? You can’t walk through a drive-thru for health & safety reasons. No MP (or any sane person to be honest) is going to think that’s okay.

TooMinty · 07/01/2021 12:01

I'm trying to eat healthy but all this burger chat is testing me!

Normandy144 · 07/01/2021 12:11

Definitely drive thru, it one way to entertain the kids. Ubereats and deliveroo works still if you cannot drive.

BertieBotts · 07/01/2021 12:13

I've seen people do the drive thru on a bike or just walking through the car route!

They should have been turned away. McDonalds have strict policies against it.

I think it was sarcasm against the "it's so unfair*

Weirdly I found delivery for our local Maccies but nothing available, not sure if that means it's closed. Hope they're all ok.

I had Subway delivered too and the babies slept through my eating

I live near 'fast food island' aka a roundabout with McDonald's, KFC, Burger King and a Subway.

The temptation to hop in the car and get some shit lunch is with me constantly.

If it says “not available” that’s a lack of delivery drivers/too many orders so just keep checking back.

XaviersMum1 · 07/01/2021 13:52

Ah ok, it's fine, I ate Subway

Givemeabreak88 · 07/01/2021 14:08

Delivery on my Uber eats is £3.99 and it’s only a mile away 😬

WhatACrockOfShit · 07/01/2021 15:44

Sainsburys sell baconaise, it's the nearest I've found to McDs sauce. It's really good incase you have to make your own
HTH 😜

BertieBotts · 07/01/2021 19:29

emily I don't live in the UK so perhaps it is different here. I did wonder if it was a Coronavirus exception, though. I remember seeing someone try to walk through one drunk several years ago (in UK) and they were turned away. It was a 24/7 drive thru but the restaurant was closed.
