Car for 17 year old dd?

We live some distance from public transport and are considering a small car for dd once she passes her test. I notice a few neighbours have bought little Fiats for their dds. I am not close enough to the neighbours to ask cheeky questions about cost, finance, pcps etc.
Would love some advice about what would be the best way to finance a little car and if there are any particularly good deals at the moment, possibly including insurance. Don't really want to buy second hand as need something reliable for her.
Thank you in advance.
@queenofthelamas really? I always got the cheap first car vibe from them.
That all depends on how well off you are, I don't think Fiat 500's are particularly cheap

@Valkadin .. I couldn't understand that comment but realise now.
I don't have a lot of spare money that is why I'm asking for advice here so I don't make an expensive mistake!

Audi A1 are very basic inside, I know a couple of people that had them and were disappointed with the spec.

I used to have a new style KA (Not my first car. I’m very old) and I always thought that would be a lovely first car. The person who bought it from me was to give it to their son as a first car.

Get a Skoda Fabia. Great cars. I've had two and both never let me down. My mum is still driving my second one which is almost fifteen years old and it still runs like a dream.

I'm probably not the best one to advise because I was straight into a massive estate after passing 😂
