How long do you think we will wfh?

I work in a bank in the city, been fully wfh since March. At first we’re told summer, then October, then January.... obviously changing all the time in line with gov advice.

My employer is still taking a wait and see stance amd not committing to per mama net changes of contract. I work from and would love to wfh a minimum of 3 days a week post pandemic. Ha anyone had those types of conversations yet? Any thoughts of when wfh may cease?

I'd think at least April depending on how this all pans out. Maybe a slow phased return to work but I think WFH life will be with us for a while...

A friend works for Facebook in London - they have been told that the office will not reopen until October / November. This made sense when vaccine roll out was due to hit “herd immunity” in July / August. But now with new strain and logistical vaccine challenges this might move. I remember nearly fainting in May when this friend said FB were not going back until Sept (2020). But I agree WFH post virus might well be here to stay. However WFH has been an option for decades now and Cheryl Sandberg COO at FB reversed all of the WFH when she came on board 10 years ago as she believed it didn’t help company culture / business etc - suppose it depends on job function.

In my industry some functions are achieving loads more WFH - others (where collaboration is key) are under performing

We have been told we don't need to return to the office for the first 6 months of 2021 (at least). It will likely be at least 2 days WFH a week if/when things return to normal (charity sector).

I work in banking and have been WFH since March. Like OP, the return to the office date has been continously pushed back. I was last told that we might return to the office in April 2021 but I'm not expecting to be back until after the summer at this rate!

My office is closing for good at the end January, so if I still keep my job it’ll be permanent wfh.

August at the earliest here. Longer the better, I need to save for a new bathroom!

I've worked in the office continually, alongside about 12 other people, the bosses like to see people working Hmm
