I’ve just ordered one! I’m hoping I haven’t been sucked in by marketing as I could really do with releasing the tension in my shoulders!

Anyone else have one? The reviews look great!

@gymbummy they also produce a pillow (of sorts) if you want that as well. I'm quite tall so tend to have the Matt below the base of my spine only running to the base of my neck. I simply use a normal pillow to support my head and the rest of my neck.

It’s arrived! I’ve tried it on the bed both with a t shirt and without. It was fine without but I only lasted a minute or so!

Currently lying on it on the living room floor with at shirt on. Hoping to make it past 5pm on it 😀

I haven’t found it painful getting off, but have found it too painful to get back on it when I’ve Come off.

1st impressions are good 👍

Next time you try in a day or two, go without a t shirt and deep breathe for 3 mins ish. If you can get past that then the pain goes and it’s really relaxing. Put something good on the tv to distract you for the first bit.

I’ve just bought one based on this thread - Facebook has been advertising them to me for weeks, and I’ve been increasingly intrigued! I’ve probably been overconfident, though, because I've gone straight in for an indigo extra spiky one 😖

Annoy · 05/01/2021 18:02

I’m off it now! Lasted around 10 minutes and I’ve felt like I’ve had sunburn for past half hour!

Haha, you’re braver than me! The original one is pretty spikey 🙈

@Annoy I'll let you know how I find it. You'll probably hear my agonised howls across tinternet, to be honest!

Kumquatsquash · 05/01/2021 18:29

I have one I found in the charity shop for £2! It was hidden among the sleeping bags and I don't think the lovely old ladies that work in the shop had a clue what it was.

I haven't tried mine yet as I have a few large moles on my back, does anyone know if it's safe to use with moles?

AnaisNun · 05/01/2021 18:33

Got one for my mum (has RA and chronic pain) and she loves it. Also got her the pillow, which she really enjoys using. She’s usually very sceptical of stuff like this, so was pleased it “passed”.

What a great find!!

I have moles on my back too. I guess if you don’t move about tOo much and scratch them, then itshould be okay... I’m guessing though!

I have tinnitus too so hoping it might relieve tension in my neck and help with it

I’ve just ordered one. Has anyone used it for lower back pain? My back pain is really low down, I’m wondering if the mat will be long enough?

KennethBakeOff · 05/01/2021 19:48

@CabinClose .... erm, just sit lower down on it before you lie down Grin

Mrsmorton · 05/01/2021 19:50

I have a black one and love it.

Snog · 11/01/2021 18:27

I just got one today on the mumsnet recommendation - very relaxing and I'm pleased with it.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 11/01/2021 18:43

I've been dithering about getting a Shakti Mat for ages, but have just taken the plunge. Thanks for the discount code.

Seeing as I was booked in for a massage today which of course got cancelled last week (sob) I thought I'd give this a try. I have lower back pain and a cronky left hip.

Annoy · 11/01/2021 20:42

Ooh i hope you like it @RhinestoneCowgirl Smile

@Snog I have used it a number of times now and do find it relaxing too. But sometimes i dread getting on it as I know I’ll have to get off it!

OP posts:
Snog · 11/01/2021 22:32

Does anyone do it without a tshirt ie directly on the skin?

BigRedDuck · 11/01/2021 22:35

Had mine fit nearly 15 years. Keeps away the insomnia!

BigRedDuck · 11/01/2021 22:35

@Snog I do but it does take a few goes to work up to it.

sheworkshardforthemoney · 11/01/2021 22:50

Glad of this thread as I bought my friend a non-branded one for Christmas. Facebook keeps showing me the ads! Hope she likes it ☺️
If she does I'll buy myself one! 🤣🤣

Fallsballs · 11/01/2021 23:31

Does anyone know if the ones that are cheaper and not the shakti brand are as good or does it not matter ?

Almostslimjim · 11/01/2021 23:36

Fallsballs I have a cheapo and a Shakti. Shakti are definitely better made, plus more ethical.

Personally I find it useless though. I was disappointed!

Fallsballs · 11/01/2021 23:40

I have terrible back ache and restless legs so I was hoping for a non med cure but I’m reluctant to invest in anything as I have a ridiculously expensive homedics back massager in a box under the bed 😬
