What did you get your 17 year old for their birthday? Need ideas.

Dd is 17 in a few weeks, I have seen so many 17 year olds getting cars or driving lessons for their birthdays but dd has dyspraxia and Aspergers and isn’t keen on learning to drive (maybe one day but not now) so I am stumped as to what to get her, there’s only one thing she wants but I refuse to buy it as it’s another pet and we already have quite a few. She’s not very girls, doesn’t wear make up or jewellery, has plenty of clothes and isn’t into brands. She’s just had an expensive Christmas present (ipad) and she doesn’t want a new phone. We usually go out for a meal but obviously we can’t do that either this year. Any ideas? She loves animals and gaming.

My DS loves gaming a d I bought him a mini fridge (not the first size as you don't fit much in it!) for Christmas. He loves it! Means he can keep snacks and drinks in his room when he's shouting at his friends (aka gaming) but he does still join us downstairs as much as he did before! Also has saved snacks being half eaten and Jeff i his room! He now out the pack of sausage rolls or whatever back in his fridge and they don't go off! My dd who is 17 loved her marshmallow toasting kit for Christmas - it was from the naked marshmallow company.

My DC all love their oodies
Other recent successes have been a digital microscope, a go pro style camera (much cheaper brand though), beanie hat, small drone, expensive trainers and a Boo pillow from Urban outfitters

If she has enjoyed photography, what about one of those glass balls that invert the image?

17yo DS had Lego for his birthday (also driving lessons, but I gather that’s not something your daughter’s interested in just now).

@MummytoCSJH

Just eat vouchers are a good gift especially if you would normally go out for a meal!
She would love this but we are pretty rural and there’s only one place that delivers to us 🤣

She would probably like a mini fridge to keep her snacks in. Going to go and look at ‘boo pillow’ as it sounds interesting.

I was just coming on to suggest an oodie but you've beaten me to it

Adopt a donkey?

My DS has Asperger's and Dyspraxia too. I can't imagine he'll ever drive but he might surprise us. For his 17th birthday we bought him a Fender guitar. He already plays drums and loves music.

I got my 17 year old children driving lessons.
I got my 17 year old grandson £1000 worth of driving lessons last year, June, ..he should’ve been passed by now but thanks to covid he hasn’t had his theory yet.
