Sea swim effect

Keep reading about the health/mental health benefits of sea swimming. I have always loved being in or by the sea and have felt positive effects after. I feel calmer and refreshed.

However....I don’t live by the sea and covid is also making it harder to travel to the sea also.

Any suggestion on activities that might have similar effects/outcomes?

I’ve thought about sitting outside looking at the stars in quiet in the eve. Any other suggestions on how to get that “sea swim effect” outcome?

@EmmaStone

I'm in the SW too, quite near a swimming quarry, wonder if it's the same one. I have a (mad, super fit) friend who swims there, and the safety around it is brilliant, they have to swim with a buddy I believe. I'm definitely not up for the cold swimming thing, but it's definitely taking off, and I know of a few people who are doing it more.
I’m Somerset is it the same? It looks very well run and safe so will give it a go when summer comes around I think. I love the dress but the 11/2 drive isn’t practical all the time.

Can I be boring and add a note about not doing this, the first time on your own ? If you have a condition you don't know about , and being cold brings it on( think heart related like angina ) it's better to have someone else with you when you try this for the first time !
