Toasted sandwich maker or panini press

Which shall I buy? Old traditional very cheap toastie maker is in on its last legs so I need to replace. It gets used a couple of times a month by me and the teenagers. Just wonder if the press might be more useful for different things. But then will it be crap for toasties?

@planningaheadtoday

They are very versatile. I often use mine open to toast brioche burger buns, and yesterday I made a hot fajita chicken and cheese wrap in it as didnt have quite enough filling for a quesadilla.

I mainly got it as DD lives waffles but only got round to making them fir the first time about a month ago. They come out really well and if you make a large batch you can freeze them which is handy.

We have a panini press and use it once a week on average.... usually for toasties actually but can do paninis or toasted wraps/flatbread. I'm sure you could also do halloumi/bacon etc on it as well.

Krups panini press.

I’m going to go rogue and suggest you get an airfryer. Since we got ours a few weeks ago I’ve made multiple toasted sandwiches and wraps. Chuck in the airfryer and secure it with a cocktail stick.
Easy for teens to use for other things too, anything that would need oven time but with very fast pre-heat so far less energy and no big baking trays to wash up.
Rather excited about having the extra “oven” space for Christmas Day.
(I don’t just use it for junk food, I roast veggies in it too)

morphy richards microwave toasti maker

it works well and doesn't take up much space when not in use.
@Flaxmeadow I want the kids to be able to use it too so something easy is essential. I thought about a panini press as I make my own bread and it doesn’t fit well into the toastie maker
Yes me too, our bread is delicious but wonky!

That 3-in-1 looks good actually.

I would like to stop having to fry cheese sandwiches!
