Please recommend good Coffee Creme chocolates, like Roses used to have?

I've had a proper Christmas craving this morning for a coffee cream out of the old Roses .... Roses discontinued it didn't they? (I'm sure I remember the bitter disappointment of buying a tin and finding none)

Can you recommend me a substitute?

Hotel chocolate ones are good. I wish they'd bin the toffee ones and bring back coffee

I saw these recommended the other day - have never tried them though (would like to!):

Thank you both, I will investigate!
I'm in NW and I think there's both of those in shops in the area. HC definitely, will have to see if I can find a Whittaker's outlet.

The Whitakers ones mentioned above are lovely - I got some in a hamper. I love coffee, strawberry and orange creams - it’s weird to me that so many people loathe them!

Same here, but being the sole lover of them in this house means more for me Xmas Grin I never encouraged the kids too hard cos I didn't want that to change!

Are there Whitaker's shops (might have been thinking about Whittards and getting mixed up) or are the in any specific shops or department stores?

Aldi have delicious orange creams in small boxes at the moment. Dark choc, v good. The strawberry ones are rubbish though - artificial tasting.

I take this taste testing business very seriously, as you can see Grin

piglet81 · 07/12/2020 11:25

Haven’t seen the Whitaker’s ones in any stores, I’m afraid.

Plonque · 07/12/2020 11:27

Ah, ok! Online it is.

A few local garden centres and gift shops sell Whittakers here but online is probably your best option.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 07/12/2020 11:53

Iceland often have Whitaker chocolate as do poundland

ScalpHelp · 07/12/2020 11:54

Thornton’s are worth a try too

Jijithecat · 07/12/2020 11:57

I was lucky enough to receive some complimentary coffee and cardamom chocolates with an order I placed from here;
www.lickthespoon.co.uk/
They were so delicious and I was really impressed with the service.

Justonedayatatime11 · 07/12/2020 12:04

Audreys chocolates. Best coffee creams I've ever had from anywhere. Slightly pricey but definitely worth it!

RoseZinfandel · 07/12/2020 12:18

I have seen a (I think) Whittaker's coffee selection boxes in Booths in the Christmas gift aisle - you may be close to one if you are in NW.

RoseZinfandel · 07/12/2020 12:22

this one is the one in Booths (and also had a mint one)

Plonque · 07/12/2020 12:33

Thanks everyone!

Rose, yes there's one at the end of my road Xmas Grin thanks!

My local Waitrose had Whittakers. I've only tried the orange ones but they were lovely. Now thinking of getting strawberry, orange and coffee ones and pretending I'm eating the best of the roses with none of the boring toffee!

TheSqueakyWheel · 07/12/2020 14:20

Whittakers ginger creams are amazing.

Peanutbutterblood · 07/12/2020 16:18

Aahh this is my kind of thread. I definitely dont see enough coffee chocolate / creams around

BashfulClam · 07/12/2020 16:40

Love coffee creams...I’ll need to get some!

Plonque · 07/12/2020 16:44

Xmas Grin well I do seem to have found my people!

No-one in my real life likes coffee creams!!!

BertieBotts · 07/12/2020 16:48

:o I love them too! My grandma used to be highly suspicious of soft chocolates, she would squish them with her fingernail and if they collapsed she wouldn't eat them. I loved that because I had all the squashed ones!

Gohackyourself · 07/12/2020 17:18

Amazon stock Whittaker’s and beeches coffee cremes for £4 odd a box- they are delicious
