Is anyone awake? I am so alone and feel like I have no future. My relationship broke down a year ago and I have no future of a family now. I feel so old and beyond hope.

How are you this afternoon, OP? I was wondering if you have plans for Christmas? Family to visit? Or maybe you're hosting.
We all understand how sad you are, and you're allowed to be. I promise you that life will be happy again one day, take an hour at a time on the bad days.
You're clearly a lovely and smart young woman. You just need to find a few happy moments to keep going for now.
Let us know how you are.

Thinking of you. I have no advice, because your title is how I phrased how I was feeling when I attempted to explain just how shit and sad everything felt a few weeks ago. Things got worse since then, which I didn't think would have been possible, but one day at a time is the only way at the moment.

My friend got married at 40 and has just had her first baby. Her DH is 26.

Your self defeating talk is damaging. Talk to yourself as you would to a good friend, not your worst enemy.

Find a good counsellor and talk it through.

Exercise more - it'll help you sleep.

Few peoples lives are perfect, we all suffer loss and hurt and despair, it's what makes us human. This is your "shit time", we've all had a period in our lives when it's felt utterly bleak and hopeless, but that time passes, it really does, and it passes faster and more healthily if you are kind to yourself.
