Why was he going on about Mumsnet? Didn't quite catch what he said.

A comedic actress.

Apparently

I loved his music at one time. Then me and DH went to see him and it was so bad. We walked out when he brought a group of primary school kids on stage to sing with him....and then his Dad

RozHuntleysStump · 04/12/2020 21:18

He’s a twat. Always has been, always will be.

iwantmyownicecreamvan · 06/12/2020 20:43

@Bluetrews25

It was when his wife was in labour, he was doing a bit of performance singing, like you do, not paying her any attention, and then she told him to shup up, or words to that effect. The person next door heard it all. Somehow a recording went viral. But it was ALL planned, donchaknow. They'd been recording funny things through the labour, and had decided that this would also be amusing. Apparently she's an actress? But MN took it seriously and clearly did not approve. So Rob thinks we're eejits. Hmm
Yes, apparently she knew and agreed to the singing and he wasn't just showing off to the midwives.

It still made him look a bit of a dick though - his wife certainly didn't look impressed.

ScrapThatThen · 06/12/2020 21:33

I'd like to believe he is OK irl but having read his autobiography that guy just seems really unpleasant.

midnightstar66 · 07/12/2020 05:24

ooh ok, didn't realise he had a baby!

He’s has two kids naturally and one via a surrogate I think but he’s still a tosser

They have 4 dc, 2 that his wife carried and 2 who are biologically theirs who were carried by a surrogate.

TheRogueApostrophe · 07/12/2020 07:27

@NiceGerbil

Wasn't that the thing about how seeing his wife give birth was like watching his favourite pub burn down.
I can't stand that "joke". Some men really shouldn't be allowed in the labour room.

And seriously, if other women in labour could hear them dicking about, that's really fucking insensitive of him. Should have planned a home birth where they wouldn't bother anyone else if they wanted to act the fools.

For clarity, I dislike Robbie. Maybe he is nice irl but I can only judge him on his public persona.

TheRogueApostrophe · 07/12/2020 07:39

And, yes, the fact they see nothing wrong with renting a womb and allowing another woman to take the risks of pregnancy for them makes me negatively judge them both.

FridayWineTime · 07/12/2020 07:51

I find it deeply annoying that when in concert, he never actually sings his biggest hits - he holds out the microphone and gets the crowd to sing it. For Every. Damn. Song. So you’ve paid all that money then don’t actually get to hear him sing the best ones! Hmm

MrsMiaWallis · 07/12/2020 07:53

My sister worked with him about 10 years ago and said he was a really nice guy, so I always feel a bit guilty thinking he's a tosser.

TheRogueApostrophe · 07/12/2020 07:57

But he puts the tosser persona out there, MrsMiaWallis, he obviously keeps the good personality for his private life. I expect he knows that he's marmite with the public, but I doubt he cares given he's a millionaire who continues to sell out arenas!

Roystonv · 07/12/2020 08:02

He just can't seem to help himself, as though in a public situation he almost unknowingly becomes a jerk. Such a shame, I love his old songs and many have real grief/anger in them but he just ruins the sentiments by the way he behaves and as he gets older it is less 'acceptable'
