Treats for yourselves, under £5

I would like to start buying myself a weekly treat, with a budget of £5 and am looking for ideas. A few 'rules' for my proposed 'programme':

  1. I must buy one treat per week.
  2. If I spend less than £5 on my treat one week, I cannot roll the leftover money into the following week. Similarly, I cannot skip buying a treat one week to accumulate the saved money with the following week's money.
  3. It can't be food or drinks (I'm trying to watch my weight)
  4. I already have a TON of make up and given the year we've had, I haven't worn it much (maybe I should start again but I CBB to take it off at night and if I wear makeup I absolutely take it off before bed)
  5. The treat must be for me: no gifts for others to make me happy, type thing.
  6. If purchased online, P&P must be included in the £5.

Any suggestions?

Good idea OP, good for you. I notice though you've said a few times that you don't have time to do face masks/ read magazines etc. Maybe you need to give yourself a weekly 'treat hour' as well as the 5 pounds especially to enjoy your treat? Then you will have it scheduled in and it's easier for it to not get pushed aside for chores etc and will help with the stress management element. A bath, feet up with a magazine/book, face mask with music, candle, music etc.

Good for you! I have done similar over the past few years and now have a monthly subscription of my favourite tea leaves.

Ive decided in 2021, i will treat myself to a virtual run medal each month - my daughters and i are already signed up for one for January and i can't wait to get started :)

Thank you for all the ideas - as I mentioned, food and drink are non starters because I'm currently trying to lose weight and I do treat myself to a nice hot drink once a week or so already when I'm near Costa. I don't want to roll over any unused 'budget' because the point is to treat myself to low-cost items. And I like the idea of a treat every week, even if it's just a nice candle (you can never have too many), a face/hair mask or nice socks.

Love this, thanks for sharing @BarryWhiteIsMyBrother! I’ve nicked lots of PP’s ideas and added a few that will prompt me to spend time doing things I’d enjoy but never allow myself time to do. Like, a book of stamps - to send a postcard (already have lots) or letter to people I’m missing.
