@HermosaMain have you thought about actually having a bit of compassion? That's one of the most outright bitchy things I've read on here.

Huh?

The OP asked "what to do"....if she is old enough to drive a car, she should be old enough to know that if it gets nicked - by anyone - she should call the police. Hmm

@HermosaMain said/did nothing wrong.

Agreed.

What does the OP expect the advice to be?

Maybe order a self-help book from Amazon?

Ironingontheceiling · 03/12/2020 09:05

Is it in your name or his name?

Who bought it and who’s name is the log book in ?

stressfullday · 03/12/2020 09:11

Report it to the police Hmm why do you even have to ask, it's obvious.

Mumsnet is full of arseholes.

Are you okay? @ACanOfWormZ

Maybe the op didn't want to escalate straight to the police without exploring other options for a variety of reasons and looking at suggestions that could help. Eg sending a text setting a deadline that she will go to the police maybe🤷‍♀️

The op might be in a bit of shock. Op, please call the police. Would you call him violent? (When he took the keys) If so tell them that too. He’s not who you thought he was and he is not your friend.
(Light a candle and do a magic dance is still funny though)

You would need the registration document plus proof you paid for it for the police to take you seriously I suspect. Having the reg. document in your name alone is not proof of ownership.
